    10,000th Children Of Bodom song

You`re the one who plays with fire in the night,
you`re the one who scares people with the scythe

You`re the one to tell Him to ever live by,
you`re the Lord to shaking all alone

    (You're alone!)

Now you left me out to drop His sight:
I wasn't ready for the sunlight to come to my heart

Take me with you, take me far; take me away from the painless soul
Drop the haze; save the skies... reaper never lies

Now running out to forever alone,
sweating and shivering; cold right to the bone

Pain is come; control to fall...
become for the mad to escape with a bottle from this world

You`re far too alive: try back to the sky
I wasn't ready for the scythe... get me down to the trough

    Like lightning from the sky,
the moon is up with pride; go listen, take away

Your place for my lying out... being high, come Heaven above
Drop it now: it falls alive; take me to the sky
  • All Things A Fire Inside

    Out 29 2010, 21h08

The first time that I was introduced to AFI was by a friend named, Owen. We were sitting there bored and he made me listen to his head phones telling me that this band kicked all kinds of ass and that I should listen to them. He was listening to The Art Of Drowning album. I was hooked on Davey`s voice after just one song. The first song that I listened to was The Lost Souls. I was hooked. I needed to see the face that belonged to this blissful voice. The first picture of Davey that I ever saw was this and I fell hardcore for this freak

I read all about them and learned all about there past and there roots. I started reading lyrics and immediately was blown away by the despair, the darkness and the longing that they wrote about. But, mainly the darkness of everything from the sound to the lyrics to the images and artwork that was associated with there band.

The obsession with long hair and make up has always been something that affected me very much. To this day, it`s still something that I cannot resist. I fell in mad love with Davey. He still is one man that I love to this day, even though he cut off all his hair and he wears no more make up. At least he is still covered in tattoos and has the lip ring ;)

I have been listening to AFI for 10 years now, I am pretty sure that I will never stop either. Even though, I refuse to purchase Crash Love. It is pure pop punk bullshit. I get that artists need to grow and evolve in there sound but, I just fucking hate it. I will never deny the greatness of there work before that album though. Hunter played a big part in me wanting to learn how to play bass too, he is pretty fucking cool.
AFI are just great, what more can I say...

Answer That And Stay Fashionable - 1995

This album kicks ass. My first favorite song when I got it was, The Mother In Me. Rizzo In The Box and I Wanna Get A Mohawk (But Mom Won`t Let Me Get One) came next. The cover of The Police`s, Man In A Box is well awesome too.

Very Proud Of Ya - 1996

This is still my favorite album. I can listen to it over and over and never get sick of it.
Two of my favorite songs ever come from this, Love Is A Many Splendored Thing which features Tim Armstrong and Who Said You Could Touch Me?. File 13 was my first favorite on this when I got it. I love the lyrics very much, it`s lame but, I relate to them on so many levels. Cruise Control makes me laugh, I fucking love it. Shatty Fatmas is fast and gets me so pumped up whenever I listen it. I try to sing like Davey and fail every time when I listen to that. Crop Tub is quite significant to me, the lyrics speak to me very much and remind of someone, it`s all about hate and I fucking love it. Oh and This Secret Ninja is classic to me. It`s hard for me to say anything bad about this album. I love everything on it with one exception, Modern Epic.

Shut Your Mouth and Open Your Eyes - 1997

The screaming on this album is so fucking brilliant. It hooks me time and time again. The darkness and despair in every songs lyrics and melody make this pretty much the most perfect album for me. VPOY is my favorite in there punky style but, this is my favorite since they started moving away from the 2 minute punk song style. A Single Second is a masterpiece, the lyrics are so full of aggression and hate but, just the fact that Nick 13 from Tiger Army sings back up makes this one of the best things ever. Nick 13 has one of the most perfect voices that I have ever heard. Coin Return is one of my favorites just alone for Davey screaming his head off during the entire song pretty much. Of course the cover of The Misfits, Last Caress is brilliant. I love AFI covering them. The cover of Filth`s, Todays lesson is great too...The screams, wow. Triple Zero is the last song on this and I love it very much, it usually makes me want to listen to the album over again because, I always want more AFI. Oh and lyrics from that song stick out....It`s not too late, embrace your hate...Fucking love it.

    A Fire Inside EP - 1998

My favorite EP. I love everything on this and everything about this. The covers and the originals both kick ass. The cover of The Cure`s The Hanging Garden is beyond beautiful, I love the drums and I love the way Davey sings it. Demonomania, the cover of The Misfits song is 1 minute and 84 seconds of heaven to me. I love it with such a passion. 3 ½ is my favorite original on this, it is so dark, the lyrics stick out to me so much. Over Exposure is perfect to me for the lyrics alone, they are deep and so heartfelt, shit that just makes you think.

    All Hallow`s EP - 1999

They do the best cover of The Misfits, Halloween. Totalimmortal is on this, which is hands down my favorite AFI song ever. The haunting beats of Fall Children always give me chills. This entire EP is beyond spooky and pretty much everything that I love about AFI. The Boy Who Destroyed The World is like genius, what gets me about this song, every time is the little instrumental breakdown, love it.

Black Sails In The Sunset - 1999

So dark sounding and so emotional. Everything on this album is perfect to me.
The Last Kiss is a fucking masterpiece, my favorite song from it. The lyrics just kill me..."All by myself, I`m alone in such poor company"...Malleus Maleficarum is amazing too, the lyrics get under my skin and do things to me. Everything is so dark and exactly what I love. God Called In Sick Today is classic too, the opening guitar riff is one of the most perfect things that I have ever heard. Clove Smoke Catharsis is so hauntingly beautiful, it makes me cry most of the times that I listen to it, I just cannot help myself.

The Art Of Drowning - 2000

The first album that I ever bought by them. It`s so dark and gloomy, I love everything about it and every single song from it. My first favorite was, Ever and a Day. The lyrics get to me. Smile came next, I fucking love how brutal the lyrics are. Davey once said about them...“ Hate humanity? Yep, sure do. There's such a lack of responsibility for one's actions in the world, a selfishness, and a great destruction in the way people live their lives. It's all instant gratification, and who cares how my instant gratification affects those around me, or on a small personal level or a global level. The way people treat each other is truly disgusting, and we've created an environment through advances in science and technology that allows for a very septic society to thrive. And we breed and breed, and all the wrong people breed while all the right people don't want to have children because they don't want to place them in this world. ” Of Greetings and Goodbyes is amazing. So is A Story At 3, that song never fails to make me want to cry. 6 To 8 is such a brilliant song too. Oh and the secret song, Battled is fucking amazing, short and to the fucking point.

    Sing The Sorrow - 2004

Again, so dark and beautiful sounding. With sort of an Industrial sound to it. Davey almost ruined his vocal chords recording this album with the way that he screams. he refers to it as the Green Monster when he records his screaming.
Miseria Cantare (The Beginning) gave me some lyrics that I love..."Nothing from nowhere, I am no one at all" Bleed Black is loud and very pleasant. Death of Seasons was the first time that there were Industrial beats used with them, I loved it. At the end of that song, Davey just screams and screams and it is one of the most perfect and beautiful things that I have ever heard. Recording that, almost ruined him.
The Leaving Song is haunting and never fails to give me chills.
...But Home Is Nowhere is probably my favorite song on this, so perfect, the lyrics and the screams get me every time.
The secret song, This Time Imperfect makes me cry every fucking time. I love it and I hate it. Davey has this way with words that can cripple me.

    Decemberunderground - 2006

I almost lost faith in them when I first heard the song, Miss Murder. the only good thing about that song is, when Davey is screaming.
The band changed there image...Davey cut off his hair...I was afraid it would be shit but, it`s not horrible. There are some redeeming songs like, Endlessly, She Said which is my favorite from that album. Davey`s lyrics are amazing in it. Kill Caustic is full of Davey screaming his head off and there is nothing better then that to me. Kiss and Control is beautiful. Affliction is great, it reminds me of older stuff. 37mm has so much Industrial beats to it, it`s amazing and sounded like it was meant to be on a Blaqk Audio album instead.

    Crash Love - 2009

I refuse to own a copy of this album, I dislike it very much. I am sure though, that I will eventually invest in a copy of it just, so I can add it to my collection of all things AFI. The only song that I like from it is, Okay, I Feel better Now

What would you change in no.35's music?
Nothing at all, they are perfect the way they are and always will remain

Who is the worst member of no.12 in your opinion?
    There are no bad members.

Do you think no.36 is underrated or overrated?
    They are so underrated

Do you know anyone that hates no.38?
I don't know many people who even know who they are to begin with. I don't see how anyone could hate them after listening to them

Do you like no.45's style of clothing?
Yes, they are very chill. They never overdo anything

What was the first song by no.11 you heard?
    Aldhissla. Then the obsession began...

Why is your no. 3 in third place of your top artists and not higher?

They used to be my top artist but, then the obsession with CoB started...I will raise them up sooner or later. They are still one of my favorite bands ever

Do you find anything beautiful in any of no.11's songs?
The use of Humppa and the fact that everything reminds me of a dark bloody fairytale. Everything sounds beautiful to me by them

Does any lyric of no.30 describe you?
From the song, Fuck It....I guess I like it when we fight, the way you drag me down. Because I can't face myself in the mirror, I'm left alone with all my pain

Who is the most talented member of no.36?
Brian Molko... Such the perfect voice

What's your favourite album of no.3?
    Nine Inch Nails
Though it's an EP I love Broken more then anything else. It's hard for me to pick anything over the other when it comes to Nails, they all are important to me

Hahah, all of my 'phases' were good ones. I have always listened to metal, since I was 5 years old I loved Hair Metal. Then I moved on to Grunge, then Industrial, then Nu Metal, then Punk, then Black Metal and Death Metal. In between everything stuck with me and I still listen to all of those genres. Everything I listen to makes me who I am, so I regret nothing.
