I see you're listening to my new favorite singer, Amanda Shires! I think CARRYING LIGHTNING is an amazing album, and "When You Need A Train It Never Comes" is just a fantastic song.

No, I'm not quite feeling Joanna Newsome, she's a little too winsome for me. Otis Gibbs is ace. I've seen him twice. Seeing him again in September. Cool bloke.

*waving cat fingers* Hello, tarsier lovely! Yes, I have tried to play her stuff on Last when I was seriously obsessed with Mariee Sioux and I don't think it ever worked. I'm getting Joanna Newsome (not the goaty singing, the more recent JN) and Kate Bush from 'Squirrels'. Many thanks for the reco. x

You should get together an all-star tarsier band to go on state television with. With your fingers you could rock an oud, or even some sort of theremin/mandolin hybrid contrivance. I'd pay good money to see that. Songs could be about the boons of having insect winkling fingers and the trials of getting fashionable sunglasses to fit tarsier-sized eyes. More songs should be about ill-gotten genital complaints, the bands could be sponsored to tour schools and prison as an educational aid. 'la-la-la, I've got craaaaaaaab-lice! Do-dooo-dooooooo!' Kids would love that. The bands could train up pubic lice to be like one of those old fashioned flea circuses, but doing cool stuff like nude modelling and drag racing. I'd be dangerous with money....

Hello. Glad your tarsier self is well. Do you see yourself as a tarsier? I'm more of an angry mouse, myself. 'The Mouse That Spins' is my fave publishing house. ha! Well... gosh. That is... like 80's U2 singing ove disco beats to the cast of 'Annie' about... uh... head lice. I had to Google it, cos I thought it might be about pubic lice and wondered how that could get on tv. They do look a bit 'nitty' tbh. It's always a worry, to be listening to Balkan Beat Box in my car and blasting some tunes and not having the faintest what they are singing about. I hope all their songs are about lice actually...

Thanks for that. Have you heard 'To Hull and Back'? I've never been able to find a copy. I really should have tried the merch stall at his last gig, but the room was so hot that I just wanted out, plus I'm like the Queen, I rarely carry money. Trips about 'The Adversary'? *Brr* Not so good. I once mentioned that William Blake had only seen him once, on the stairs, (as opposed to angels, that I think he must have seen with monotonous regularity by the sound of it) while I was tripping and it made the whole think a bit more 'poignant'.

Sobre mim

When you were a child,
you were a tomboy
and your mother laughed at the serious way
that you looked at her
and from your window at night
there were the stars’ little fires
and the armory lights

You were tracing the lines
of a globe with your fingers:
cool rivers, white wastes
desert shores, and the forest green
and a limitless life
in the breath of each tide
and each bright mountain, rising

but now the boys are away,
and such kicks they are having;
slashing away at the forest walls,
with their bitter knives.
Sparks bloom in their eyes,
and they never look tired.
Will they never look tired?
