Which wasn't a bad thing this time. Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends was a positive surprise and took a few good plays to open up. It's been a new album season all together. death cab for cutie spat out narrow stairs and the futureheads did the same with This Is Not The World. Brill albums both and the dvd that came with "This Is Not The World" was a treat.

I decided to give Nicky Wire's solo debut I killed the zeitgeist a chance since James Dean Bradfield's solo was so charming. Not as good but decent stuff all the same. Fanservice perhaps but who cares…

I finally got myself a copy of Eleanoora Rosenholm's Vainajan Muotokuva which was one of last year's Finnish indie music sensations. Wonderfully moody and atmospheric indie pop, recommended!

Another new sensation this year: Glasvegas. Their first single off their forthcoming album: Geraldine. Verdict: fucking great!

The shape of Finnish electronic pop music to come is very promising if Déclassé and Jori Hulkkonen have anything to say to that. Déclassé's Remain still caught me pants down after hearing only one song from it; Fade to Grey. And Jori blessed us all with his new album Errare Machinale Est which again was another step away from house music. A bit shame yes but at least what he's doing these days is sheer geniosity.

Oh yeah, Ladytron made their best album yet. I'm very disappointed Velocifero wasn't shortlisted for this year's Nationwide Mercury Prize, sniffle.
