Surely you're aware of the demographics of Sedaris' fan base. A couple months ago The Stranger was giving away tickets to his show in Seattle and when a breeder won them they expressed great surprise, and for good reason. I first heard some of his material as a contributor to This American Life on NPR, and have since snagged several of his audiobooks. I especially liked the one when his dad forced him to take guitar lessons so he could be in a Dave Brubeckesque jazz group but all he wanted to do was sing commercial jingles in a Billie Holliday voice. Hilarious.
