Agreed. And Bjork. Don't forget Bjork! :)

Indeed. It's a good thing that Tom Waits straightened out his drinking problems as well before his voice got too low... Any lower and he would be able to communicate with whales. Not that I dislike that. If anything, without his gravely voice his music just wouldn't sound right.

America is very odd, but actually Tom Waits said the lobotomy line jokingly on TV back in the 70's... It was however originally a quote from a New York poet named Dorothy Parker. And yes, I got the Waits quote. He's very quotable. :)

Well, you know what they say... I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a partial lobotomy.

Yes, isn't the new album great? I love the Native American and Middle Eastern influences. I thought they couldn't top The Adventures of Ghosthorse and Stillborn but I was pleasantly suprised.

Agreed, any person that doesn't have a designated zombie closet full of sharpened Japanese swords and large guns better get used to the idea of someday possibly being zombie chow.

Alright, great! Yeah, making any sort of "definite list" is a pain in the ass. I think I'll just stick to 5 or 10 in the future. When you start doing these 20/50/100 albums/songs/whatever, it just fluctuates way too much. Say, 5 favorite albums, I guess I can make up my mind when it comes to that, and they might even stay valid for more than a couple of days.

No, I'm not, and I think I'll pass. If I start now I'll have no chance to be a real contender in any league, am I? Hehe. I like the concept though.

Hey man, great that you took the time to check out my new journal, and thanks for the comment! Though a bit late (I've been terribly busy this week), I've replied to your comment in the journal now.

I decided to write a new version of my top debut albums list. I guess your comment was sort of the inspiration I needed. Hope you'll check out this one as well!

Well, I suppose I could make an exception this time. I'm so accustomed to my delusions buying me lunch, that this will be quite an undertaking. I only have one stipulation: that I choose the restaurant this time. I'm still not over yesterday's noontime disaster.

Sobre mim

The sunshine reminds you of concreted skies
You thought you were flying but you opened your eyes
And you found yourself falling back to yesterdays lies
Hello, pleasant street, you know shes back again

Looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind us
To a glimpse of how green it was on the other side
Steps taken forwards but sleepwalking back again
Dragged by the force of some inner tide

You made me forget about
Have, want and exert
And all of a sudden I feel proud
For being without saying a word
You made me forget about
Past and pain
Time you washed out
Like a soft sudden summer rain

Should I stand amid the breakers?
Or Should I lie with death my bride?

When the party's through
Seems so very sad for you
Didn't do the things you meant to do
Now theres no time to start anew

Oh every angel's terrible
Said Freud and Rilke all the same,
Rimbaud never paid them no mind
But Jimmy Morrison had his elevator angels..
If every angel's terrible
Why do you hide inside her?
Like a child in a skirt
And the supermarket's loud and bright

I used to live alone before i knew you
I've seen your flag on the marble arch
But love is not a victory march
It's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah

And word by word they handed down the light that shines today
And those who came at first to scoff, remained behind to pray

Picture yourself in a boat on a river
With tangerine trees and marmalade skies
Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly
A girl with kaleidoscope eyes

We met when we were almost young
Deep in the green lilac park
You held on to me like I was a crucifix
As we went kneeling through the dark

Non les brav's gens n'aiment pas que
L'on suive une autre route qu'eux
Tout l'mond' viendra me voir pendu
Sauf les aveugles, bien entendu

Experiments that failed too many times
Transformations that were too hard to find
Poisons in my bloodstream
Poisons in my pride
I'm after rebellion
'Ill settle for lies

The fiddler, he now steps to the road
He writes ev'rything's been returned which was owed
On the back of the fish truck that loads
While my conscience explodes
The harmonicas play the skeleton keys and the rain
And these visions of Johanna are now all that remain

And its whispered that soon
If we all call the tune
Then the piper will lead us to reason.
And a new day will dawn
For those who stand long
And the forests will echo with laughter
