• Adam Lambert - "Trespassing" Album Review

    Mai 13 2012, 9h32

With Adam Lambert you never know what to expect. He often surprises people with something shocking, something very new, different and interesting. And sure enough something good and unique. That‘s why he‘s so special as an artist. He‘s very exciting. And most of all he‘s an amazing person - what a wonderful personality! Once you‘ve met him, you‘ll fall completely in love. :)

After Adams first genius album For Your Entertainment he took what seems like a very long time to write and record the next album. And yes, the wait was totally worth it! Trespassing - what an amazing album. It‘s one of those CD‘s that you listen to once and you know right away that you completely love it. And it‘s not just three, four songs that are great, as on most albums from other artists. It‘s the whole album! There‘s not even one song that I don‘t like.

The album has got a great mixture of uptempo and massive and wonderful ballads that make you dream and gives you goose bumps all over your body, with totally stunning vocals. Turn up the music very loud and soak this all in! Yes Adam has got truly the best voice in the music business right now. No doubts about that. There‘s tonz of cool uptempo and midtempo songs with great beats that make you wanna dance and party, also great songs for your workout and just to rock the house. Here are some of my personal thoughts about the songs:

    - Never Close Our Eyes: The first time I heard the whole album, THIS is the song that struck in my mind directly and I‘d be humming everywhere all the time. Awesome, catchy melody, amazing singing, simply perfect song - the highlight for me!
    - Kickin‘ In - in some parts a bit Michael Jackson and Craig David kinda style, very cool song, great beat, groovy!
    - Naked Love - beautiful song that give you the feeling of fun, party and sunshine - like a fun day on the beach. Summer feeling & happiness.
    - Runnin‘ - what an extreme sexy, cool and special verse - sounds a little dark, very deep voice...changing in the refrain dramatically into a clear and higher voice with a huge melody, as massive as you‘d find in the big, old Backstreet Boys hit songs. Amazing song!
    - Better Than I Know Myself, Broken English, Underneath, Outlaws of Love, Nirvana: all of them incredible and wonderful ballads, tonz of emotion, moving lyrics and most of all again this stunning voice of Adam, that gives you goose bumps nonstop or makes you cry. His voice is totally outstanding, there‘s just a little bit of instruments in the background so that his voice is the main point in every song. And wow, this works and sounds incredible.
    - Cuckoo, Trespassing, Take Back - cool uptempo songs, very much „let‘s party, dance and have fun“ kinda style. That‘s the kind of sound you‘de hear (and wanna hear) in a disco and bar - great music.

To sum this up, it‘s an album that suits Adam Lambert perfectly - cool, sexy, fun, fresh, emotional, groovy, exciting and really really good. This album is something for really everybody. And it‘s worth every penny. Once again I can say: I feel very proud and glad to be a GLAMBERT. Thank you Adam for this fantastic album! :)
  • Jahres-Charts 2010 - Künstler, Alben, Songs, Konzerte

    Dez 31 2010, 5h51

Allen voran meine Lieblings Twilight Songs "With You in my Head", "Bella's Lullaby", "Supermassive Black Hole", "Jacob's Theme" und "Never Think".

  • The Baseballs live @ Casino Herisau, 8th February 2010

    Fev 10 2010, 7h27

Mo., 8. Feb. – The Baseballs Konzert

Am I too sceptical, do I need to lower my expectations in music and artists? The Baseballs are the second band I have seen live this year. They too didn't convince me the way I wanted it. From a Rock n' Roll band I'd expect a lot of fast songs which make fun and make you wanna dance all night long. This very famous German Rock n' Roll band, The Baseballs, could have achieved that if they changed their setlist a bit. Some of the songs were too slow and many sounded too similar the way they changed it. For those who don’t know, The Baseballs are a cover band who change very famous songs into their own Rock n’ Roll version. If you are almost only making cover versions, you have got a massive choice of songs and should choose them carefully. The concert would have needed more of a diversity in the song choice or the way they arranged them. And more rockin' and rollin' stuff.

My highlight was the beginning of the show where the whole band sat and stood behind a curtain and you could only see their shadows while playing. Looked awesome! And of course She's Got the Look. from Roxette which they changed into a massively rockin' tune, even better than the original. And the very famous cover version from "Umbrella" - I don't like the original version coz it sounds kinda boring to me. But the Baseballs cover of that song is awesome! - Umbrella . I loved the show part where they took off their ties and played sexy with it, it was fun and cool. Also the little a cappella song where the whole band sat at the front of the stage and sang all together - it sounded fantastic! Very surprising was the little song part where one person from the band background sang alone - he had such an amazing voice, even better than the „real” singers in the band. I loved their clothes, the way they danced. But only the tallest, oldest singer in the group absolutely convinced me with his voice and look, he truly sounded like a rock n' roller! :-D

The audience was fantastic at the Casino Herisau (Switzerland). The hall was packed with dancing and singing people, making waves for the band and willing to sing along to everything the band wanted them to do. They took two girls on stage to to play instruments and clap hands to cheer the crowd which was fun. There was also a lot of flirting with the female fans. What I missed though was a real Rock n' Roll couple in original Rock n’ Roll clothes dancing on or in front of the stage. Such a shame that only very few females in the audience were dressed in Rock n' Roll style coz I adore that fashion! :-D I liked that there was no support act and they started early with the gig (we don’t need any support acts anyway do we?). I think most of the audience loved this concert. As for me I did like it but not really love it. Maybe it's because I'm more into rough Rock music, I wanna dance, go wild, shake my head. So maybe in the future I'd have to only go to Hardrock and Heavy Metal gigs? Ha! There you go. ;-)
  • Nickelback live @ Olympia Halle München, 30th January 2010

    Fev 1 2010, 22h13

Sa., 30. Jan. – Nickelback Dark Horse Tour 2010

My first impression of Nickelback was massive! It was about some years ago when they toured as support act from Bon Jovi. Haven't heard about them before. And so I saw them live at the Stade de Suisse in Bern for the first time. They truly rocked! It was a rough, fresh and very rockin' performance and impressed me much more than the headliner Bon Jovi. So I was very excited to get the chance to finally see Nickelback live again in Europe, this time as headliner themselves.

Me and my mum, both rock music fans, travelled to Munich/Germany to see Nickelback in concert on January 30. It was freezing and there were already tonz of fans waiting for the concert hall doors to be opened. Very surprisingly we still got a 3rd row place right in front of the stage. Which we had to leave during the concert though cause the sound was terrible there. The concert started absolutely on time with the American casting winner band Daughtry. They've got some great and catchy songs and did a great job. Probably one of the best support bands I've ever seen.

Nevertheless I was very happy and really excited when Nickelback finally came on stage. They started off with a very rockin' Something In Your Mouth and continued their setlist with mainly all of their well-known songs/singles just like Savin' Me, Far Away and the beautiful ballad Photograph, also Because of You, Figured You Out, Gotta Be Somebody. I loved Chad Kroegers powerful and amazing voice. He seems like a very nice and absolutely down-to-earth kinda guy, talking a lot to the audience and havin' truly fun. The massive fireworks/fires on stage as well as the interesting video sequences on the huge screens were impressive. I loved the video they played during Rockstar with Kid Rock and lots of other massive Rockstars. Nickelback interacted a lot with the fans. The vibe was fantastic in the Olympia hall, until the end of the show almost everyone was standing on their feet, dancing and jumping! It was a good concert, but still somehow it did not impress me as much as their gig as Bon Jovis support act did. I just wanted Nickelbacks setlist to be more hard rockin'. I missed songs like Side Of A Bullet and Next Contestant. Also the concert should have been longer. Such great rockbands should be able to play more than just 1 encore with 3 songs and that's it. If Chad hadn't talked such a lot and long time and if they cancelled the drum solo (which wasn't very good anyway, Simon from Lovebugs is better on the drums!), they could have played easily 3 or 4 more songs. Especially if they cancelled the 10 minutes where they threw cups of beer into the audience (come on, what was THAT about?? Disgusting!). Also I simply can't forgive them for playin' Wanted Dead or Alive from Bon Jovi...that does not work. But I'm very thankful for Animals which made a very rockin' and perfect ending of the show. Even though some songs were really great and I enjoyed the concert anyway, I was a little bit disappointed. Maybe I expected too much? I would not go to see them live again just now. Maybe next year with new songs and another setlist?

And about the audience...why do German people need to get drunk to have fun? And why do they almost only sell beer in the concert hall? No wonder people end up looking like comin' out of the Michael Jackson Thriller video til the end of the concert... ;-)

  • For Your Entertainment - Amazing Debut Album Adam Lambert

    Nov 18 2009, 7h02

Adam Lamberts debut album For Your Entertainment is going to be released next Monday, 23rd November 2009. It's surely one of the most exciting album releases ever. Because the expectations are set very high since Adam has worked with the biggest producers in the music business and worked with the right now probably most successful and famous singers just like Lady Gaga. And most of all with such an amazing voice and talents you could think nothing can go wrong. And so it is. It has been said that Adams pre-sales for his forthcoming album For Your Entertainment are the highest ever for an American Idol contestant. And he did not even win the show! Seems in the end second is first anyway. Adam is the all-time American Idol Winner. And sure enough he's going to be massive.

Yesterday was a very exciting day for all Glamberts, fans and music interested people because Adams songs have been officially put online to listen to - all of his album songs in full lenghts! You can listen to them on his official Facebook site and on iLIKE.

Sure enough I took the time immediately to listen to all of the songs in full and very concentrated. It is the album I was looking forward to so much since I've seen Adam on TV the very first time on American Idol. I was truly impressed by his amazing talents and looks and loved him straight away! Now having listened to his album I can say: this is it! This is probably the best album I've ever heard. And I mean it. Each and every song sounds absolutely great! And this is a very rare thing to happen on an album. Most of the songs sound very fresh, cool, sexy and flirty, just like Adam seems to be. He's like a male Lady Gaga but with much more talents. He's absolutely unique and is showing that in his songs. The range of songs is very wide, all of them completely different! There's cool uptempo tunes which make you wanna dance all night long as well as absolutely amazing and touching ballads with stunning vocals. Every song is very surprising. The whole album leaves me simply speechless of happiness and excitemend. I'm absolutely impressed. Everyone go and listen to this album now! And don't forget to add his songs to iLIKE on Facebook and pre-order the album on Itunes, Amazon or wherever you like. It's worth every penny. Amazing tune.

And yes, at first I was really hoping for a rough rock album. Because I absolutely loved Adam's performances with Whole Lotta Love, Ring Of Fire and the Kiss Medley. So I was kinda disappointed to hear that the album will mainly not be rock but rather glam pop dance kinda music. But after having heard the album I'm not not disappointed at all any more. Because this sound is truly the way Adam himself is, it fits together perfectly. AND: it is good, very good! Adamazing.

  • Gotthard & The Crave Concert @ Garage London

    Nov 15 2009, 18h49

    Di., 3. Nov. – Gotthard

I love going to concerts. And even more so, when I can go to gigs in foreign countries because it's always extra special. Get to know new concert venues, another audience, everything new and exciting!

Now what a big surprise that one of our biggest bands in Switzerland - Gotthard - would play in London during our November holidays. Sure enough we decided to go there. Gotthard played on 3rd November at the Garage club in London. Even though the venue can be reached easily by tube (almost direct at tube station Highbury) it was a massive adventure to finally get there. It was the evening the city decided to switch on all the Christmas lights. Tube and bus stations/routes were closed! And all roads especially Oxfordstreet and Regent Street were crowded with thousands of people, Andrea Bocelli singing Christmas and winter songs and Jim Carrey being at the premiere of his new movie "A Christmas Carol" on the red carpet all at the same time. So we crossed our ways through the crowds and big events and got just on time to the Garage. It's a nice little club with lots of great rock gigs there, just the way I like it. Great Vodka-Orange too (and much cheaper than everywhere else), yumm!

We were very surprised to see lots of people wearing Gotthard T-Shirts, probably some of them Swiss fans, but also many UK people waiting for the biggest Swiss Hardrock band! When the show started the hall was crowded.
A rock band from Brighton/UK, The Crave started the evening as support act. Even though I haven't ever heard of them, they got me from the very first song. The Crave are making melodic, great rock music, some of it very rough and cool! And music you could absolutely imagine listening to on radio and everywhere. The kind of music that should conquer the top of the charts. Having great songs and being amazing live is one thing...but hey, they also look damn good! Very good looking young men. I bought their album and now can't wait to hear some more from them! I bet their signatures will be worth a whole lotta money soon.

Now time for Gotthard. Have seen them live before and kinda knew what to expect. And let me tell you, I do think this was one of their best concerts ever. It felt like they truly enjoyed every bit of the gig and so did the audience. It was a huge rock party with all of Gotthards biggest songs, especially the most hard rockin' ones like Hush, Lift U Up and Mountain Mama which made us dance like mad and shake our heads! :-D During some songs they asked the audience which songs to play and made a little acoustic set with beautiful ballads including the wonderful Heaven which I loved so much. The singer Steve Lees voice seemed strong and perfect and so was the sound. It surely was one of our best evenings in London this time. It kinda felt like a piece of home to see a Swiss band in England. And it also made us feel proud that we've got such great music here in Switzerland - wahey!!
