• Bloody Knuckles Fantastic

Seeing DKM in Boston on St. Patrick's day, not once but twice (the Thursday before) was fantastico.

I have to admit the HOB show was smaller better acoustics and way more intimate, so I liked it much better. It was kick ass to see people come from all over the world, not just to Boston but to the shows.

Drinking on the train to Lowell was a riot and so was everyone else. A smashing time was had by all and thanx to DKM for keeping a late train running so we could get our asses home!

  • The QUEERS - Reno Divorce - Victim's Willing - Vena Cava and some other band

    Dez 5 2011, 19h43

God Damn that was a fine pit to behold! The Queers played in the City of Salt on Saturday night. My SD card was full on my cell and my regular camera was out of batteries - so I was forced to drink and just have fun! I Can't Stand You

Also with them was Reno Divorce - FANTASTIC live! guess things happen that way

Victim's Willing was great - see Nacho Pumpkin pix on fb if you find them and like them! No trax on here - that is a shame!

Vena Cava opened and they are a great local band!

    Fun and good times!

It was really an amazing show! Even though I went stag, or would that be doe in my case. The sound was good, but too many peeps were sitting. That is the only thing I don't care for. But if there has to be seating at least it was theater seating. Got a tiny table to myself on the side and took some decent pix and a couple of videos. This was the last stop on the 20 city tour and they made it a gooder! Blue Yodel No 4 - California Blues was the closer.

Enjoyed meeting Brett Detar - AMAZING VOICE/VOCALS - he is a little dark americana for my everyday taste - but a great performer and funny story teller - Whiskey, Cocaine, Herion Blues - fastest song he played.

  • I just want to be that Man's base

    Ago 15 2011, 20h14

    Wed 10 Aug – Nekromantix

Fun and good times. I so wish I could have been that base.

The first band, the Pagan Dead, a little too screamo for me. I am sure they have found their niche, but cthulu cult norwegian-death-metal with a stand up base is just not my thing. It was too bad the Brains got stuck behind the border in Canada, because I had just got turned on to them and would have loved to have seen them!!!!!

But then it Nekroman's turn...They always put on a fun, hot show. Their drummer is not only insanely hot, she is an AMAZING drummer. I love to see more women in this role, particularly when they KICK ASS! However, I do have a thing for base players; maybe it is the frequency at which those notes shiver between my thighs, but then again, who knows.

Interesting venue, good sound and of course the drinks were too expensive. But I would go again.
  • Stupid Venue - never wear heels to that place - GREAT band!

    Jul 15 2011, 18h00

Holy shit that was a good show. I can not believe how long they played. Plus I liked most of the songs. It really was the first time I had heard most of their music. Yes, I was told that I was likely one of the oldest at the event, but I found some with grey hair older than me! At least I think so.

Not a bad venue, but don't wear heels as if you eat shit, which I did you could loose a foot and have to have it amputated at the ankle. The gravel afterward was not so fun either in heels. And I forgot to eat dinner before going. Lost my friends shirt in the bathroom and had to buy another - thanx vendor guy for giving it away @ $12. Stupid whore in the bathroom who stole it should be punched in the taint. I don't like thieves at least for that kind of shit ~ but my bad, should have remembered.

    I would see them again!

  • Oi the hills and through the snow...

    Mai 20 2011, 19h30

What a fantastic time!!!!! These guys actually were an hour and a half late, but they braved the pass and a snowstorm to show up and play to 50 or 60 people! I think that is just really cool! And as always they put on a fantastic show. Skankin' abounding, oi, oi, oi! Buster was his usual charming self and this time got a pic taken with him. Lovely - except he looks better n' me. A bit much o' the Guiness and tried some Strongbow - the new desert cider...LOL.

  • The Tiki shows continue to surprise.

    Abr 18 2011, 16h41

What a rocking show! While I was not very impressed with the first band; I will say they have guts and with some practice could go further. They were very young, fairly tight, but nothing that stood out other than a female lead singer in a corset tank top. I know sex sells, and she was trying to be about the punk rock, but not sure I got a lot out of the music other than screaming - hate that shit!

The big surprise of the night was the second band: Those Damn Bastards - super tight, excellent sound and good rockin' reminded me a bit of Tiger Army but had their own sound! Can not wait to see them again. Perhaps former members of of Spooky DeVille - still trying to find them or any of their music, but they are on again in about 10 days - want to meet those fucks! They ROCK!

Flatfoot 56 was a sure crowd pleaser and they were a good time. Good sound and got the mosh pit moving. Nice guys - glad I got to see them.

Roger Miret was a bit of a disapointment - sound not so great, but most of the crowd was there to see them and that man can still put on a powerful show at 47. Glad I got to see them. There was a small rumour about the bar that AF might actually do a show again...wouldn't that be interesting...

I love this bar, I forgot I should have stock in it.

  • Tesco and the Meatmen

    Abr 13 2011, 22h38

The man is as rockin' as ever. However, I must say that for one of the few bands which I have ever seen that could incite some of the larger pits I've been in; the fans were a bit lax. My and my gal pal were winding it up through the crowd and she was wearing a dress!

As usual, the dialogue between songs is one of the things that make a Meatmen show better than your average. The man is always trying to incite something or just spout off. I will say I was surprised to find that he is a phone junkie - always on that thing while walking around the bar checkin' it or tweeting. I hear tell he is an infamous tweeter - will have to search that one - could be interesting...

    Cheers and

    ~Meow for now.

Standing next to you, feeling your rough hand in my pocket.
Tunes are running through my azure mind,
while you softly whisper sweets through your candy lips which never make it to my ears.

    Lyrics were your words.
Words were my only defense to keep you at bay -
    A weathered shield at best.

Taking over and driving the sounds down the road, nothing further need be said.
We could have driven forever, riding the notes into that distant sunbleached horizon. Somewhere honey warm.

You gave me up on a cheap shot,
so I had a few to take it back.
Now you are standing next to someone new.

So Tonight That I Might See
