You know those surveys that businesses sometimes ask people to fill in? The ones where they try to tempt you with the promise that anyone who fills one out gets put into a prize draw. I won £50 from one of those yesterday. I got the phone call just after the local music shops' closing times. So naturally I went shopping this morning. I netted five albums for £39: Sound Of White Noise, Overkill, The Yes Album, Killing Is My Business...And Business Is Good! and Fighting. I would like to think that that's pretty eclectic taste...but of course they're all rock, so really it's not eclectic at all. If you feel like a challenge, try and guess which one of the above I previously felt embarrassed not to own.

Anyway, Song Of The Day! I'm aware the Sound of White Noise album is a controversial one among Anthrax fans. Most seem to hate it, though there are a few who seem to love it. By comparison to previous Anthrax its very grungey, which in itself is apparently a controversial statement. I've seen comments on youtube videos from people who have reacted very badly to the comparison between this album and the grunge movement going on at the time. Nevertheless, it reminds me personally of Soundgarden's Jesus Christ Pose which I adore. I pick this track now because I like it, even if I'm not sure if I will like it next week, next month or even next year.

Does it need anymore justification? No, not really it's my Song Of The Day journal, I get to choose what song I feature. However, before any hapless hater stumbles across this journal, I would like to stress that I do like the Joey Belladonna Anthrax too, and perhaps even more than Bush. Don't panic I'll pick some 'real' metal soon.
