Wed 9 May – Alkaline Trio - 15th Anniversary Tour (09.05.12) - CHANGE OF DATE

Passionate song writers, passionate guitarists, phenomenal two acts that opened for the classic rock band: Alkaline Trio. The Dear and The Departed were on first and then Dave Hause was on second. Finally Alkaline Trio finished the night epicly. LEGENDARY.
  • The Darkness

    Nov 24 2011, 23h43

Thu 24 Nov – The Darkness

Probably one of the most spectacular gigs I've ever been to :)
  • Panic! At The Disco

    Mai 17 2011, 21h35

Tue 17 May – Panic! At the Disco

Absolutely amazing. Those are the two words I would use to describe their performance, but I can't say the same for the supporting act who don't seem to exist on the internet of what I've found. That band was called Love Letters and they were just awful. Lead singer was mistaken to be a woman at first o_0

Anyways, I totally enjoyed every minute of Panic's amazing live enthusiastic and energetic performances. If you haven't seen them before, I highly recommend that you do! I certainly wouldn't mind seeing them again!
  • Wombats gig (Sunday 13th March 2011)

    Abr 4 2011, 23h20

Sun 13 Mar – The Wombats

First band: Team Me. From Norway. Lively bunch. Voices were unique. Still new, yet to hit the mainstream. A good mix of instruments varying syth keyboards to drums and tambourines to guitars and a few others other instruments. I really like them already. They certainly get the crowd moving with their sensational beats and synths. Definitely worth seeing again. If you ever get a chance in he future. I would recommend them that's for sure.

Following band: Good Natured. She certainly has whacky hair aha :P anyways. She wasn't as good as the previous band. Quite loud. Good but not brilliant. Preferably seen the first band longer.

    Finally: The Wombats.
Amazing live. A group of lads with great voices. Very lively. Generic to their sound and style of play. Definitely worth seeing again. I dont usually say this but they sound as great on disc as they do live. An absolutely brilliant night.

p.s. FYI. With all reviews I write are just my opinion. I am not a professional. TBH, I can't write whatsoever so judge me for what I like to share. Tyvm.
  • Monday 4th April 2011 - The Pigeon Detectives Gig!

    Abr 4 2011, 23h19

Mon 4 Apr – The Pigeon Detectives live at Norwich UEA

    The Kabeedies
With their whacky moves and exotic tunes, they were certainly different from the other two later bands. Still new, still a catch, still a long way to go. Up tempo and good lively tunes.

    Club Smith
A bit older, rockier and a all lads band. A four piece band based in York and Leeds. Appearing at Leeds and Reading Festivals on the BBC Introducing Stage and gigs across the UK and in Berlin. I wouldn't say they were as good as the previous band but still they've definitely got something.

    The Pigeon Detectives
What a amazing performance. Two things - Firstly I have never seen a band live, say they don't want a encore. They were only joking anyways. Secondly, I have never seen a live band throw water onto themselves and into the crowd. Lovely. Cures the sweat for moment. This band really reminds me of The Wombats gig. They sound as great as they do on the disc as they do live. Phenomenon live performance. Great stage presence, but the other bands didn't seem to even smile once but still what a fantastic on how the night ended.

    p.s.

All my reviews are just my open minded opinions. I am no professional reviewer, I just tell it as it is of my personal experience.
  • Darwin Deez Gig @ Tuesday 1st March 2011 @ The Waterfront, Norwich.

    Mar 2 2011, 0h05

Tue 1 Mar – Darwin Deez

A review is a review. Just telling it as it is when I was there.

    Rams’ Pocket Radio.

Well first things first - Bassist IS QUITE pretty. She definitely moved well. Good stage present. Lead singer is gay for sure (thanks to my friend for pointing that out). Piano songs were good but when he went on syth piano, they weren’t so good. The singer performed better when he just on the keyboard. When I said piano, I meant to say keyboard. Bad habits.

There was slight distortion in he middle of one of the songs but tbh that wasn’t their fault. Guitarist and drummer were pretty average. Knew their stuff. Don’t think they were out of sync at any one time. Pretty good overall but still early yet, they’ll progress in time.

    Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs.

Well what can I say. Strange. Different. Mixing is out of this world. Basically something expected. It’s like Hot Chip meets Henry Homesweet with some rad and strange mixes. Took some time to adjust compared to the previous band. It was good, pretty good. Got most people off their feet. A lot of bass. Minor singing. Strange costumed women who were supposively dressed as dinosaurs. Strange tones, variation of mixes. Use of different syths and hardware (not sure to the names of specifics). Pretty different performance, unexpected, spot of surprise.

    Darwin Deez

They were just absolutely amazing live. Got the crowd moving for sure. With their quirky and surprising outro short dance moves, in between the performance of their own songs. Darwin was pretty good with his trendy dance moves, along with the other two guitarists/bassists. They all had their own style which was pretty cool. One of them had a back in the day look. Shaved on the sides, with all rounder fringe. The other fella was that was quite a cool chap with his hood up and hat on. Finally, there was the drummer. They were all pretty good. Amazing sound. Great performance. What a way to end a night.
  • Example gig @ UEA, LCR, Norwich.

    Fev 22 2011, 23h27

    Tue 22 Feb – Example

    Ria Ritchie,
Quite pretty. Talented. Topshop style. It was a good start to the gig. Something different. Something new.

    Wretch 32,
    Raps were good :)

    Example.
Absolutely amazing. Would definitely see him again.
  • Magnetic Man, Crystal Castles, The Vaccines, Everything Everything.

    Fev 14 2011, 12h10

Fri 11 Feb – NME Awards Tour 2011

Let's start from the beginning, well The Vaccines reminded me of Nirvanna dress look, well with their hair anyways. The music is good, but slow at times. Need more beaty tunes I think.

Everything Everything were just great as I expected. They sound as great on CD as they do live.

Magnetic Man brought the mofo house down seriously. Raving mad. It was packed. It was amazing. The tunes were sweeeetttttt!

Finally Crystal Castles ended the night with some sick beats, what tops that off is that, Alice was injured and on a crutch, she still performed. Absolute dedication! That girl is hard to core I tell ya!
  • We The Kings gig @ The Waterfront on Sun 13th Feb 2011 review

    Fev 14 2011, 11h31

Sun 13 Feb – We The Kings, VersaEmerge, I See Stars, All Forgotten

Well I will try and keep this short as I don't have time to write a big review.
All Forgotten are still new, they still need work. They were nothing special.

I See Stars were alright but they need some new tracks out like stat. They were good but not great.

VersaEmerge, I would say were pretty good. It's like Paramore meets Hey Monday or something.

We The Kings were just amazing. Yes moshing got out of hand in some parts but nevermind hey. It was being there that mattered. Even got my ticket signed and met the singer from We The Kings so it was a pretty good night. The only other annoying thing about the Waterfront is the two red poles in the middle.

  • Ellie Goulding - UEA LCR - Thursday 24th November 2010 - 1930

    Nov 24 2010, 23h35

Wed 24 Nov – Ellie Goulding

Ellie Goulding's voice is quite unique. She's is beautiful and has an amazing voice. She is just as great on CD as she is live :) The support bands weren't that great. They were Bright Lights and Sunday Girl. I missed those as I was busy. She drummed madly. She played a bit of piano. She's is one amazing singer, guitarist and song writer. Most of the crowd was full of young-uns like 12-16 year olds. God. It was like the Kids In Glass Houses gig. Anyways I loved it. I met one of my friends Elizabeth there and her friend too. She was well buzzing for it and kept frustrating me to get to the front. But it's pretty simple. If you want to go to the front, you have to get to the gig venue early. Done and done.
