First of all we've got Sven Väth.
he's the father, we're the children, no words neccessary.
furtheron we have Ricardo Villalobos who is unique and marvellous in combining Classics, Minimal, Funky House and Acid sound. Not to be forgotten his great talent to be fucked up to the max but stil one of the greatest and nicest entertainers. He nowadays plays more techno-ish than most of his fellow Superstar-DJs that dropped just hard Techno durieng the last years. Maximalicous!
What Sven Väth has been for Germany Laurent Garnier did for France. It's incredible how he combines countless styles in a perfect blend mix drivin the whole audience crazy like shit! Dub, Northern Soul, Funk, Hip Hop, Acid, Techno, House, even Nirvana can be heard - awesome!
Not to be forgotten is Larry Levan who was one of the first DJs according to the recent understanding of the term. His talent to make a crowd happy, and his perfectionism concerning light & sound remain legendary.
Another guy from Hassia now having moved to Berlin is André Galluzzi. He know's how to party with the people and how to take you on a journey as well. Fantastic DJ, no party with him has ever disappointed me.
Berlin Scarf Seller: Where's Magda?
Richie Hawtin: Who?
Berlin Scarf Seller: You know the Polish boy from Detroit.
What a pity, she's more into Vodka and girls than into hemmingway daiquiri and German men :-( Always knows how to be minimal enough to be not disturbing, but to play hard enough to make the crowd go mad!
One more must be mentioned - DJ MEAT from my recent hometown Offenbach. Perfect mixture of Detroit, Chicago and recent jacking techhouse stuff. A very very nice and down-to-earth guy!
