  • The top 15 most played songs in my computer and on my iPod

    Jan 31 2013, 16h13

My Winamp shut down last year so that's why the numbers are so low. The iPod numbers are a little under 2 years old (I got my current iPhone in spring 2011). Thought it would be interesting to compare my most played songs from the current restarted Winamp (which I use for scrobble), iPod (no scrobble) and the stats here in my account.

The top 15 most played songs in Winamp:

These My Dreams Are Yours - Marc Almond (66 plays)
Do It With A Rockstar - Amanda Palmer & The Grand Theft Orchestra (29)
    Hood - Perfume Genius (26)
    Impermanence - Othon (23)
Fantastic Voyage - David Bowie (21)
Dark Parts - Perfume Genius (20)
    Freedom at 21 - Jack White (18)
Sixteen Saltines - Jack White (17)
Want It Back - Amanda Palmer & the Grand Theft Orchestra (17)
    Blunderbuss - Jack White (17)
Luv Letter - DJ Okawari (17)
A Song for Europe - Roxy Music (16)
Mystery Star Dance - Othon (16)
    Trespassing - Adam Lambert (16)
End Up Here - Cher Lloyd (15)

The top 15 most played songs in my iPod:

Right To Pop! - Graham Coxon (58 plays)
Hotel Yorba - The White Stripes (54)
    Konichiwa Bitches - Robyn (53)
Black Or White - Michael Jackson (51)
    Shine- Take That (50)
    Song 2 - Blur (48)
The Lady Is A Tramp (Ft. Lady Gaga) - Tony Bennett (48)
Teenage Dirtbag - Girls Aloud (47)
Sound Of The Underground - Girls Aloud (47)
Boys Boys Boys - Lady GaGa (47)
Drive My Car - The Beatles (46)
I Saw Her Standing There - The Beatles (45)
Golden Years - David Bowie (45)
The Fear - Lily Allen (44)
    Can't Get Enough - Suede (43)

The top 15 most played songs since I joined last.fm in 2006:

Carolina Drama - The Raconteurs (124 plays)
    Ulysses - Franz Ferdinand (124)
Punkrocker (feat. Iggy Pop) - Teddybears (110)
Maybe This Time - Liza Minnelli (108)
Mr. Bojangles - Robbie Williams (101)
Live Like We're Dying - Kris Allen (95)
Strangers When We Meet - David Bowie (79)
The Jeep Song - The Dresden Dolls (75)
    Intervention - Arcade Fire (71)
These My Dreams Are Yours - Marc Almond (67)
When Heroes Go Down - Suzanne Vega (66)
Loving The Alien - David Bowie (65)
Say Hello Wave Goodbye - Soft Cell (61)
Half Jack - The Dresden Dolls (60)
Queen Bitch - David Bowie (58)

Interesting: the iPod numbers are the most even. I seem to listen to my favourite songs on there quite evenly. Also the overall stats are pretty different from what I've been listening to for the past two years. There isn't one song which would feature in each of the lists.

  • This is world that we live in...I feel myself get tired

    Mar 31 2009, 11h35

I used to be the one bitching about The Killers when I knew shit about them. That's typical. Like people bitching about Twitter when they haven't tried it.
(I don't like Facebook very much but I am on it...it turned out not to be my cup of tea).
Anyway, back to the music 'coz that's what matters, ain't it. :o)

It took me 5 years to start liking The Killers and now I'm hooked. Coz I find myself loving the quirky ones - and boy, those boys are quirky. Esp. Mr. Flowers. Hilarious man. His eyes make everything he does seem so sincere.

I find it quite nice (even tho uplanned) that it's the Killer songs that remain in my recently listened tracks in here before I started the strike.

I'm laughing at the people who can't stop scrobbling for a few days... "last.fm is the drug, got a hook on me" but hey, makes me feel good about myself. I can live without scrobbling, yes I can. Now, before I start quoting president Obama...

...What have I been listening to since starting the strike? Thanks to The Killers' WONDERFUL cover of Dire Straits' "Romeo and Juliet" I discovered an album called "Rites of Passage" by Indigo Girls. Their version of "Romeo and Juliet" is breathtaking.

I also re-discovered a best-of compilation by Crowded House. The 90's one. It's called "Recurring Dream".

So I had a bit of a guitar evening last night.

Yeah, two albums, I guess that's why I don't need the scrobbling thing. :o))

This is the world that we live in...And no, we can't go back
