• Monster Massive 2009

    Nov 4 2009, 20h02

Sat 31 Oct – Monster Massive

This was first rave. I've seen nearly hundreds of local punk and metal concerts and I even saw my favorite metal band play just a few months ago, but this was simply the fucking greatest concert I've ever been, too. I went for trance, but ended up in the coliseum most of the time and danced for several hours. O Callaghan was ok, cant remember who went after him but he was great, CC sucked, but Felix made up for it. Around 1 PM Armin started playing, also my first time seeing Armin live and I'm a fan so I pretty much shit my pants. He's not the greatest DJ or greatest producer, but I do love a lot of his works. Greatest time of my life.

One of the few events where I actually sat afterwards and thought, "I wish I could do it over and over and over again." I hope to see Armin Only later this year, but I dunno if I can afford.

Just so you know, Monster Massive is worth it! If you missed out this year you should probably go next year.

  • 20 Trance songs - created for those who haven't listened to trance or just want…

    Abr 20 2009, 6h03

Reccomendations welcome! Actually, if you read this and already listen to trance, I insist upon reccomendations! ; )

It's nearly been 6 months since I started listening to trance and its' subgenres and I want to make a list for others that may be interested in getting into trance or those who are looking for trance they've never heard before. I made this list composed mostly of my favorites in the order that I think it most accessible to a "wider audience" and to help a bit I have list a short description of the song and/or the feeling they bring to me so that you can choose which ones for the mood you're in. Naturally, the same mood they bring out in me or the mood I am in while listening to them may be different than yours, but it's there as a sort of practical guide.

Note: a lot of these are not on or are only available in preview so I put the first 5 embedded and the rest are to youtube links.

Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes
    sadly and happily euphoric

    Chillout mix

Armin Van Buuren - Misrere and Rush Hour
    a very passionately angry song

Mungo - Under The Sea (Sebastian Brandt Remix)
aptly named as it envelops me in a sea of euphoria each and every time!

Aluna - All Of My Life (Airpanel Club Mix)
the most beautiful vocals i've ever heard, sad words and music - my favorite next to As The Rush Comes and Under The Sea]

    Armin Van Buuren - Sail
    profoundly sad, no vocals

Agnelli & Nelson - Holding Onto Nothing (Club Mix)
just beautiful vocals by Audrey, very sad song, great beat

Ehren Stowers - Both Worlds (Colontonio remix)
happy euphoria, beautiful acoustics as well

Arksun - Arisen (Paolo Caronna Adds More Melody mix)

DJ Shah Feat. Adriana Thorpe - Who Will Find Me (Main Mix)
    so happy and relaxing
    Acoustic Mix

John O'Callaghan - Big Sky (Agnelli & Nelson Remix)
Very beautiful, one of the best vocal pop-trance songs

Above And Beyond - Can't Sleep
    deeply sad

Jose Amnesia feat. Jennifer Rene - Wouldnt Change A Thing (Original Mix)
    This one hurts.

Darren Tate Vs. Jono Grant -Let The Light Shine In
somewhat sad yet very uplifting happy ending!

    Stenna - Skyline (Arizona)
    so much fun!

    Super8 & Tab - Elektra

    DJ Shah - Flamenco Mediterraneo
flamenco - trance fusion! This is great

Kaskade - 4 AM (Adam K and Soha Mix)
this is more progressive house, but I love it so much it has to be here

Above And Beyond - Good For Me (Above & Beyond Club Mix)

Talla 2XLC - No Inbetween (John O'callaghan mix)

Mystery Island - Perfect Escape (Original Mix)

Thanks to RoverTheOctopus for many of the uplifting trance reccomendations! Also, Melotron definately deserves a shout. I searched for bands like them and found many reccomended "similar artists", yet nothing compared to their melody, vocals, or energy. I really liked Folge Mir Ins Licht (Verdienter Mix des Volkes) and I found what I was looking for in TRANCE!
