German - The language of hatred... or is it?

Nov 9 2009, 18h50

This time, something more elaborate than a simple comentary on a band or artist.

Some months (maybe years) ago I read something on the internet, where a guy (can't remember where I saw it or the name of the guy that said it) said that "While french is the language of love, it's pretty easy to asume german is the language of hatred"

Well... I think he said that on a review of a Rammstein album, not sure, but it DOES make sense, since their music is pretty heavy and... well.. Till Lindemann only sings in german...
While german IS a language that sounds awesome when you sing as if you were angry, bands like Elis and Coronatus prove it's not true that only heavier songs sound nice in german.

So, is german the language of hatred? Maybe (Hitler would agree).
Does it sound nice on heavier music? Definetly.
Is it horrible when there are calm songs in german? Not even in a thousand years!

Artists of the day: this time, only german-singing!

Rammstein - Industrial metal
Subway to Sally - Folk Metal
Elis - Gothic Symphonic Metal
Coronatus - Gothic Symphonic Metal

    Nice one Eddy.

German isn't the language of hatred, but I can say that Rammstein rules (as Subway to Sally and Elis).

German isn't a language of hatred, but it sure is a language that sounds hateful. For proof, check out the german version of Barbie Girl (often miscredited as Rammstein's work). You'll laugh when the male singer comes in.

I also have to say that german is not the language of hatred.
Especial Rammstein is a Band whose singer pronounces the words much harder than they're in general.
Of course german sounds more aggresiv 'cause of the words themselves. The pronounciation we use is way darker and harder than for example in english.
To give an example "Feuer und Verlangen" which means "fire and desire". The english version sounds like power metal, because of the i and e ,but the german one, espacial when you are rolling the "r" like Rammstein. U and A are just dark vowels and E and I are bright.

But when you like german singing Bands, than listen to
"Die Apokalyptische Reiter" - Just fucking Metal ^^

"Samsas Traum" - A very special Bandprojekt. the guy is making nearly everythinh from gothic/pop/elektro to black metal ore experimental accustic.

"Schandmaul", "Saltatio Mortis" and "In Extremo"
When you like Subway to Sally, i think you will like them also

Or if you like crazy shit than listen to "Excrementory Grindfuckers" Nice Grindcore with very funny lyrics.

So far, have a nice day
