...the music begins to feel a bit worn out. I had both CDs in heavy rotation about 2-3 years ago, though, and I really enjoyed listening to them lots. So overall I'd say that while they aren't perfect releases, they're very captivating, thought-provoking, and definitely worth a buy. One other thing I forgot to mention about the consistency of the quality of tracks: personally, I feel that both Light/Love years feature a few VERY strong tracks that divert attention from the rest of the tracks and make it more difficult to consider the album as a whole. Because the style from track to track is very similar, it's natural to be comparing the tracks to one another, and a handful of the tracks on each CD just don't compare to tracks like Hundred Million Light Years, Color Of Feels, Holding A Baby, and Soul Of Heart. That said, I think the album is still worth buying for those tracks alone! :P

Hey Ed, Hundred Million Light Years is a nice album, but I far preferred Hundred Million Love Years. As I believe some reviewer on discogs already stated, I feel that the beauty of Kaito's loops is highlighted in a much more affecting manner when they're cut free from the underlying beats. (In case you didn't already know, Hundred Million Love Years is basically Hundred Million Light years, minus a couple tracks and plus one bonus track, without any beats) The two albums create an interesting pair when both owned and listened to, though, and I would definitely recommend checking out both (if you can) rather than just one or the other. I really like Watanabe's style, but I also feel as though his tracks don't hold up to repeat listens as best as some other tracks do because of the simple loop-based style he uses. In other words, they're absolutely beautiful as long as you can focus your attention on the whole package, but once you start honing in on individual loops and nuances...
