After a punch of bad news today, I opened Firefox and found my home page - anathema.ws - had updated.
I quickly read the news, and oh my is my day happy now.
Anathema plans to release two albums this year. The originally planned new, double CD album that they put off for their tour with Porcupine Tree (that never made it to America, dammit!), and a "semi acoustic" release of classics. Zomg yay.

Thu 6 Dec – Write This Down, Tomorrow's Forgotten

This concert was good. Nothing astounding musically, but Tomorrow's Forgotten was fun - the played a cover of the National American University commercial theme song - and Write This Down put on one of the best live shows I've seen (particularly at the Quarry). Too bad I didn't really like their music. The place was absolutely packed, too, easily our biggest show.

Thu 8 Nov – Benson Wells, Weaver at the Loom

Wed 10 Oct – The Drive Back, Down and Above

Oh, talk about a great show. The Drive Back opened with five songs, a few from their EP and at least one unrecorded track, and they seemed really promising. The only problem is that they kept having technical issues; there was a buzzing coming from the speakers for the first one or two songs, and during the last song static kept coming through. Oh well.
