I first got into Bloc Party through a friend of mine, he was heavily into them and kept banging on about them, usually I have a very different taste in music to him but I decided to give them a try and borrowed Silent Alarm off him and straight away I was just blown away, I just loved everything about them, even borrowed the remix album. Saw them live at V festival for the first time and from that point on there was just no going back, it was one of the best live performances i've ever whitnessed topped only by the second time I saw them live. After the second album they got more popular and more and more of our friends started getting into them, but I personally perfered Silent Alarm to Weekend In The City, but WITC was deffinately a grower and after a few listens I was hooked. And even still they continue to amaze me with the release of Flux which from the very first time I heard I fell in love with. I hope they continue to go from strength to strength and can't wait for what they bring in the future.

The Cribs I knew nothing about until I saw them live at Glastonbury and thought they were brilliant, it wasnt until half way through the gig that I twigged that Ryan Jarman was the guy who went on Never Mind The Buzzcocks! After the festival i made sure to check out their albums, while i was not a fan of the first one, the second and third were brilliant. I saw them live a second time when they supported Bloc Party and for me it was one of the most energetic performances i've ever seen and loved every second of it.

Jamie T is more of a lads favourite for those drunken nights down the pub, we'd often have Sheila on the jukebox and it wasnt long till we knew all the words in our drunken ramblings and walk home. I was not let down by his first album Panic Prevention or when I saw him live both at a gig and at Glastonbury, even my friends who are not the biggest fans enjoyed his performance.

Arctic Monkeys, i'm not going to sit here and say stuff like "oh i liked them before they sold out" etc because i didnt, to tell the truth i got into them quite late but still its just good music regardless of how popular they are and commercial attemtion they get, they are just excellent songs and some modern classics.
