Songs That Press My Happy Buttons

There are certain songs that I listen to, and they just immediately make me giddy. It might be a certain turn of phrase in the lyrics, the theme of the song, singability, or just the beauty of the music itself. Either way, I decided to go through all of the music I have on my computer and write down their names.

Here's the resulting list (To Be Completed):

Run = This song is sweet, and romantic. And the effects on the voice are amazing.
Sweet Road= The first Animal Collective song I ever heard, and still my favorite. The sounds of children playing put pretty images in my head.
Love Is Evil = My current favorite song. There's nothing not to love about it. The way he sings "Love is evil", the Japanese rapping, the psychedelic nonsensical rapping about Blinky Bill at the end. This song is perfection.
Sugarless = The first time I heard this song and really payed attention to it was at the end of a very bad day, and it just fit so perfectly that I fell in love with it.
Kokomo = This is on here due to pure nostalgia. It reminds me of car rides to the beach when I was a very young child.
A Minha Menina = By far The Bees best song ever, I heard it and immediately searched out more of the same, only to be be dissapointed.
Splish Splash = Another song here for nostalgic reasons, I remember doing a ballet rehearsal when I was about three years old to this song.
Don't Worry, Be Happy = Yet another nostalgic song. I loved this song as a child (who didn't?). I even had a button up shirt with little smiley faces all over it that said "Don't Worry, Be Happy".
He War = I first discovered Cat Power when I got sent a promotional CD from Jane magazine which featured this song. It was the only song I liked on the whole CD, and I proceeded to download a ton Cat Power music, which I listened to way to much. This made me utterly sick of Cat Power, and now this is one of the few of her songs left that I ddin't burn myself out on completely.
So The Circus Is Back In Town = I love this song because of it's references to homosexuality, plain and simple.
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah = I like all of this band's songs. Why? Because I can sing along to every one. All the words are the same. Nyaaah nyaaah nyaaaaah nyaaa nyaaaaa.
Don't Panic = I love this song because it is soft, and beautiful. And it really makes me believe for a few minutes that "we live in a beautiful world."
We Are The Ones = It's hard to find good rap songs. This is one of them. And I like his fake accent in this song.
What's Inside A Girl = I downloaded this song after I bought a Hole CD and an excerpt of the lyrics were written in the little booklet. It's funny and clever, and it makes me laugh.
Technologic = Yeah, I downloaded this after I saw the iPod commercial. It's nifty.
Wonderful You
Nice of Me = This song is irresistable, from the ethnic sounding music to the giddy shrieks of "I'm real fast!". I like to drive around with the windows down and play this song really loud. I get interesting looks.
Things Against Stuff = I prefer stuff.
Apology Song = This song is just cute. I like the story it tells.
I Feel Just Like A Child = I feel exactly the way Devendra says he feels in this song.
Little Yellow Spider = The main reason I like this song is the line: "And hey there, little sexy pig, you made it with a man/And now you've got a little kid with hooves instead of hands". Besides the fact that it's such a pretty hippy song, and I know exactly how he feels.
Sick of It All = I know all the words to this song and I like to scream right along with Brody.
Iko Iko
Faces of Angels (CLSM Remix) = This song is just special for some reason. I really love the part where he starts singing really fast, it makes me think of the way my boyfriend talks when he's tripping sometimes.
Do You Realize = This song swells with loveliness. And the theme is just perfect.
The Spiderbite Song = This song is very cute. I love the way he sings so sweetly and gently about death and violence.
Yeah Yeah Yeah Song
The Boogie Monster = A song about a boogie monster in your bedroom that turns out to just be you? Beautiful concept.
Start Wearing Purple
I Won't Survive = Amazing vocals. Period.
Lies Are Much More Fun = "I'm gonna go like this to you/I'm gonna go like this to you/I'm gonna go like this to you/La la la la la" are some of the catchiest lyrics ever. Plus this song gets stuck in my head all the fucking time!
Wet & Shiny = A description of a perfect beautiful day. "We walk/In the Day/Under the sun and through the trees/We view the sky/You see blue, I see purple, we find shapes within the clouds"
Over & Over = The main reason I like this song is a very simple one: "like a monkey with a miniature cymbal"
Nightclubbing = It's cool to hear Iggy's very distinct voice over smooth synthy music.
I Wanna Be Your Dog = The first Stooges song I ever heard, and stilll my favorite. Sexy.
Hello Tomorrow = This song is like a big pink fluffy cloud. I feel like I could lay in it and float away.
