Inspiration struck a few weeks ago, its an old idea but new to me. It started with watching the latest Tomb Raider Final Hours trailer and lead to looking at some of the amazing Lara Croft cosplayers like Jenn Croft or JessieTR, it ended with playing the latest Tomb Raider game.. It all seemed to be pointing me in the same direction. I love adventure and enjoy these wild story lines but wouldn't it be so much better if i could pull off some of these stunts myself? Go on my own adventure and scale waterfalls? Okay, it's not exactly on the same scale as video games but if it was possible to go some way towards that…
So, i have decided to go for it.
Where the hell does someone start? Going from student junk food, writing essays and general slouching around to being able to do anything remotely fitness orientated. So, like any good student I did research and came across a million adverts for pills, miracle weight loss courses, smoothies to melt of the pounds and one slightly worrying suggestion to drink my weight in Grapefruit juice. But ultimately common sense and reliable sources gave me a good starting point.
That's how I ended up here, 3 weeks later signed up for the local gyn and now in possession of: good running clothes, a balanced diet that is possible to normal human beings, a couple of free sessions at a yog club and a quick routine to do once a day (the 5,4,3,2,1 workout, 15 mins a day we all can spare). Now i just have to do it. Its all there nice and organised and but now its hit me, that was the easy part.
Although I think it is achievable, for anyone. This seemed so impossible when i first decided to do it, but by looking for deals and shopping around even someone on a student budget can give it a shot. I'll keep little updates on the blog about how successful this venture is and who knows, maybe another random person can be inspired.
