Lollapalooza Day 1
Ago 8 2009, 23h09
Skyscrapers stood majestically upright like loyal soldiers huddling around field after field of festival goers at Grant Park. This is Lollapalooza 2009 on a Friday evening, and it was a beautiful sight despite the storm that made my first night at Lolla somewhat irksome. But once dusk settled in, the wet scene was quickly overshadowed by a new spectacle--one created by every child of the 80s most beloved dark romantics known as Depeche Mode.

Earlier that evening, I got the chance to interview Depeche Mode founding member Andrew Fletcher and the band's lyrical genius Martin Gore. Be sure to come back to my page for the exclusive footage where you'll hear the boys talk about life outside of Depeche Mode, soccer and djing amongst a few other tidbits!

Other interviews include the gorgeous and much talented Zap Mama. She spoke about her travels to South America and how her experiences while there heavily influenced the Brazilian rhythms that you here in "Recreation." All i have to say is that Mama is one amazing woman and was very thrilled to get the chance to talk to her.

Lastly, I got 15 minutes with Peter and John of Peter Bjorn and John. Not sure why Bjorn couldn't make it to the interview, but enjoyed the company of two "young folks" who happened to be a lot cooler than I thought! Again, please come back to my page for the interview where we learn about Peter's new solo record, the inspiration behind the new album "Living Thing" and their love for 80s and Michael Jackson!
