Oh man, I'm sorry to hear that you didn't know. I'm honestly quite surprised at the amount of people out there who really had no idea they broke up. Suppose I'm lucky for not discovering them until a few months after they disbanded, that breakup would have killed me.... hopefully someday they'll reform, but judging from the harshly negative view Kurt has on all his DG songs nowadays I'm not sure how likely that will be (although Christoph seemed to remain pretty positive about the DG when I was emailing him, not sure about Anton). And sorry about Computer Savvy, too! The one I'm holding was actually a gift from Dan so I've had it for a little over a year, but back in October he put a big stack of copies he still had lying around up for sale and they sold out within a few hours, so I think a lot of people missed out, sadly. And haha, no, I don't have Machinarium, but that vinyl sounds sick! I'm always up for some jazz so I'll have to check that out, thanks.

Ah, well, I don't actually like '80s Genesis very much. :P They were essentially a different band in the early '70s, with Peter Gabriel as their lead singer/flute-player/wearer-of-stupid-costumes. And Phil Collins as the drummer. Eno is super-duper but again, his '70s glam-rock stuff is far superior to his ambient stuff later on. I knew he did the soundtrack to Spore, and I haven't listened to it. But I agree with your mum's sentiment, he does get rather dreary by the mid-'80s or so. His work with Talking Heads is excellent, though. Talking Heads are new-wave, right? LOVE Talking Heads. I'm scanning down your "most played" list and see two artists I've heard of: The Chemical Brothers (whose work I've heard none of) and The Prodigy (who are a whole lotta fun, though I've never seen fit to actually *buy* anything of theirs). WOO!

yes, I played Fahrenheit, for some reason, I always thought it'd be a FPS, figured out that I was wrong last year - what an amazing game! and yes, I was surprised to find martina in there. heard the song "anything" on a website I think, couple of years ago. totally forgot about her until I played Fahrenheit. - the next game I'm hoping to play (also because of the music) would be Omikron - david bowie's voice fits perfectly to the overall futuristic atmosphere!

heh, thanks! if it helps, I lived in new york for a couple of months. played dreamweb with friends back when it was released. was a adventure and cyberpunk junkie (beneath a steel sky, flashback, etc.) back then. and dreamweb had this incredible atmosphere especially due to the soundtrack! I'd love to play the game again, but have to figure out how to make it work on my mac. the soundtrack itself is very dark and minimalistic, kinda like darwinia, I like that!
