Modern Day Delilah - Back to the good ol' days is where this takes you. An incredible riff accompanied by Thayer doing some sick work on the guitar. This song could go on Destroyer album and feel at home. One problem. As much as Paul still has an amazing voice, he should really reconsider the whole falsetto thing. His scream in this is just not good. Compare it with the intro of Heavens on Fire and you'll see what I mean. Otherwise, the dudes spot on. 9/10
Russian Roulette - Gene takes the vocals on this. Although not as heavy as the Revenge songs, he still makes it feel rough. Once again, Thayer with great Guitar work in it. It's probably a very good song to play live, as there is a section made just for an arena to sing along. Very well done. It holds it's own. 8/10
Never Enough - Very cheerful song. Goes well with the up-beat tempo of the entire album. It sounds very tight, very crisp. Paul's singing is showcased beautifully in this. Very well written song with a very well made chorus. Reminds me a lot of the Lick it Up album. 8/10
Yes I Know (Nobody's Perfect) - A song that would fit well in the Revenge album. Gene's on vocals for this again. He doesn't sound 60 years old at all, mind you. Songs about how awesome he is, basically. This one also sounds good. Not the strongest song on the track, but still very good. This is Gene at his finest. 8/10
Stand - Paul and Gene both take this songs vocals. It's a very good anthem song. Sounds just a bit like their Unmasked album (which I personally think it's a good thing). Once again, like the others, guitar is played very well. Thayer really shines. 9/10
Hot and Cold - Now this one is a bit iffy for me. I've always admired those cheesy lyrics that KISS somehow puts into their songs. It kind of reminds me of Shout it Out Loud. Not much, but I can kind of hear the influence. But really; "If it's too hot, you're too cold." What does that even mean? Otherwise, great solo. Gene still comes off strong in this one. 7/10
All For Glory - Now here's someone I haven't talked about yet, but he does amazing on the Album. Eric Singer takes the vocals on this song and I have to say. HE SOUNDS AMAZING. Also a kind of anthem of sorts. I didn't expect him to be able to hold up a song by himself, but man. He did it. Great work on everything in this song. I love it. 9/10
Danger Us - Paul gets the vocals on this one. He sounds great it this. It's a good song with a strong pace. This song would fit well in the Creatures Of The Night album. Simmons and Thayer of back up vocals are great. I cannot express how awesome Thayer is on his solos. You HAVE to hear it. 9/10
I'm an Animal - Now this song reminds me of a fast pace, heaver domino. Gene, of course, sings this one. Sounds something right out of the Revenge album. Possibly the heaviest song on the album. I love the drums on this, they just fit so well with everything. Paul and Tommy rip it up with a great solo and accommodating guitar riffs. 9/10
When Lighting Strikes - MORE COWBELL! I loved it. The very beginning has a great guitar and cow bell section. The best part of this song? Tommy Thayer takes the lead vocals and carries the song phenomenally. The music reminds me a bit of AC/DC but this totally has a KISS feel to it. Very awesome, Tommy lives up to everything that is KISS. 9/10
Say Yeah - The final song of the album, and leaves you satisfied. Paul takes this one, and man. It sounds great. Very well mixed together, awesome chorus, amazing drums. Everything about this one is great. This one is more of an anthem then the others, and it goes well with the feel of the other songs. It's got this great acoustic sounding part in it. Come to think of it, THIS is the anthem of the album. 9/10
Overall, I think this is an amazing and classic KISS album. It reminds me a lot of Late 70's KISS mixed with late 80's KISS. Very up-tempo album but being more of a metal guy myself, I wish there were more heavy sounding tracks. But none-the-less, this is KISS. An awesome album that lived up too all my expectations. I can't wait to hear some of this live.
