    Kubrick hasn't made that many, many movies :) at most you've seen 12 of them, and I've seen them all. But Clockwork Orange and Beethoven is a good example indeed. 2001 is interesting too, because it mostly uses classical music (and Ligeti's pieces) in a sci-fi context and they didn't electronically remix them. You can't beat classical music when you want to awe your audience.

    Two very good examples to illustrate what I said below: Kubrick's films from 1968 onward, and a personal favorite, John Boorman's Excalibur, for its use of Carl Orff's Carmina Burana and Wagner's Death of Siegfried from The Ring of the Niebelugen.

    Oho, so 1812 was the reason. Yes, I like that overture, I've been listening to it quite much lately but funnily I do it more and more because of the fairly long and quiet beginning, kind of relaxing. It's exaggerated to say it's by far the best example, etc though, many movies artffully combine the imagery and the score.

Sobre mim

I'm from the L.A. area. I like a lot of different types of music, my cell phone ringtones range from the 1812 to Mickey Avalon. I like exploring LA and taking random pictures of things. I find beauty in ugliness.
