sgt's album is solid but nothing too different from past releases other than Kim lending vocals/rhymes to a track. Nakamura Keisaku of Kowloon/toe/stim adds keyboards to alot more tracks this time around. A couple of the songs have a great blues/funk vibe. I've only skimmed the album to be honest though. Seeing sgt live is a thousand times better than listening to their albums.

oh shit. sorry for the very late reply. Owarikara's album is pretty good. Not nearly as awesome as their live show but worth a purchase. They kicked ass in Canada. Bringing Mass of the Fermenting Dregs, sgt, susquatch and uhnellys in October. Midori and likely Rin Toshite Shigure in April. =)

The Japanese indies band LOSTAGE have their fourth album coming out next month. HearJapan is releasing it 1 month ahead of schedule tomorrow. This seriously sounds amazing! http://www.hearjapan.com/store/album_info/LOSTAGE

Dude! Tell me you went to Swan Song Council... any of the 3 days, but particularly the 31st!!!! Holy shit it was fucking awesome. I thought mothercoat would be a shell of it's former self losing their drummer Hajime to Mahiruno BUT they're fucking BETTER THAN EVER!! Oh, and have you ever seen 虚弱。play live yet? Drummer is fiiiiiine!! I'd take her over any hello project skank. hahaha. I chatted with her in the elevator during Swan Song. =)

I missed 3nd (didn't think they would be the 1st band up, but talked with a couple of the members at their merch table) and wozniak (awesome band I've seen b4 at kichijoji WARP. They use my youtube clip on their Myspace). I left at around 615pm so I could hit up Beat Happening! at LUSH, then went back to watch te' for a bit then returned to LUSH to catch 6eyes. Zankyo Matsuri had a corporate event feel and honestly there's only so much inst/post-rock I can take before I zone out with ennui. I bumped into Shinya and Rintaro of aquarifa while watching ハイスイノナサ. They have a new song on the Wild Gun Crazy Comp. The most memorable part of Zankyo was when te' said, "we're not a inst band or post rock band... we're an air vocal band!" hahaha. But seriously Tokyo Boredom vol 3 absolutely DESTROYED Zankyo Matsuri. Watching 雅だよ雅 at LUSH was also way more fun/awesome than anything at Zankyo Fes. So good I actually saw them again at Basement Bar with 嘘つきバービー.

Heya! How's the new 3nd album? I've only heard the samples from hearjapan, and it sounds great. Planning to get a physical copy of it myself, don't know when though, soon hopefully!

New TLKY sounds great. I've actually seen them live a couple times and the CD manages to capture the intensity of their shows. Here's some footage I took from Shinjuku Motion 2 months ago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FtgxzXf0HCU Aiko actually gives me a shoutout in her blog in the may 20 entry. =)
