Sobre mim
About me
I'm Ariel from Malmö located in the very south of Sweden. Currently I'm doing my last year of upper secondary school, working extra at a hamburger restaurant and also, you might want to know, I'm eating candy as we speak!
I like cafés, books and the occasional art exhibition - and all this makes me sound like a regular, just enough pretentious, follower of various fine arts. This is not an entirely fair picture of me though, because in reality the majority of my time is spent on much less glamorous things such as studying, watching some of my favorite tv-shows (Family Guy, Twin Peaks, American Dad, Skins, South Park, Seinfeld etc.) or just drinking beer with some of my friends.
One thing is certain though I love music! And that's probably pretty much why you are here so let's focus on that!
My taste in music
Is the result of listening to british pop for as long as i can remember (Thank you, mum!). My first actual memory is in fact a song by Oasis! What's the story morning glory
Reaching my teens just in time for the IT-revolution I used the internet to widen my musical horisonts a bit, though I always made sure to remember my legacy.
I suppose my taste could also be described like this:
Beyond the mp3s
When I don't listen to music in recorded form I love going to gigs or clubs and I try to do as many as I can afford really. Festivals might be the best thing I know. I'm married to Roskilde Festival and it's the best week of the entire year!
I also play some guitar and write some songs myself. I don't play in any band yet though, but I do have some plans...
My favourite band
For a few years now is the Libertines. Carl Barât, Pete Doherty, Gary Powell and John Hasall is in my opinion the perfect group! Their music was always intelligent, poetic yet incredibly punk. Their expression drew influences from years of great british culture, yet they were totally unique.
Of course it was too good to be true...
The Libertines is the most beautiful and sad rock 'n' roll tale there ever was.
