Oh, but I have. Their album that came out this year was great. I'm interested in that Nijquahdda you were listening to, but can't find a blogspot that has it

Thank you. I should get into one more band then, to have 1337 bands haha. Any suggestions?

Which Wolves in the Throne Room album is best to start with? I've mostly been listening to their Diadem of 12 Stars EP so far, as it's the only one that's streamable on here. Enslaved are indeed also sounding good - I'm listening through their latest album on here at the moment. Great to hear that you're getting Nighttime Birds! That was my first album by them and...well...you can see the effect it had xD. There's one track on there, Third Chance, which I got really obsessed with for a while. I'll be getting their newest work, The West Pole, for Christmas, which should be interesting - I'm wondering how their sound will change without Anneke van Giersbergen as their vocalist. Hopefully, I'll also get some money to spend on some other new albums. These more obscure metal albums all seem pretty expensive - £12 or £13 for an album, whereas for more mainstream bands, I can often pick up albums for closer to £5. Not that I really mind spending more if the music is worth it ;)

Oh, and it was good to see that you're going to the gig as well :). And thanks for joining my The Gathering group!

Thanks for the recommendations! Sorry for a rather long delay in replying - I wanted to check them out properly before I sent one :P. Of the black metal bands you posted on my journal, the ones I've liked most so far are Wolves in the Throne Room and Negura Bunget (especially the former - really atmospheric, and the female vocal sections work surprisingly well). I'm sure I'll like the others in time, though - from what I've heard, it takes a bit of an 'acclimatisation' to appreciate subtleties of black metal, since at the moment, a lot of tracks are sounding very similar to me. Agreed on Fen, though - they do have an excellent sound. There's quite a 'warm' quality to their music that makes them fairly easy to listen to as well. I'll definitely have to see about buying or borrowing their album before the gig.

Hey :D I told you that once I had Elias' Fire-Hearted album I would tell you what I think of it, so here I am... and IT'S AMAZING!!! \:D/ I totally, absolutely recommend it to you! It's maybe my third favourite purchase of the year, after Unia and TDOG :) Ah, it's just so good... there's a nice range of stuff, some slower-paced and more melodic, and others that are faster-paced for Elias to show off. What impressed me most actually is how Elias doesn't just show off the whole time like some guitar soloists might, but you can tell he's actually thinking about the overall sound of the song. His composition style is really interesting, very "from the heart", so the album is really uplifting :D Great for studying as well xDD So yeah - basically, buy it! \:D/ And if you do, look out for the Henkka Klingenberg keyboard solo on the title track!! =w=

Yes, well, where I seem to be most into power metal with that classical rock and hard rock stuff right behind it, you sir seem to appreciate hip hop and that "other metals" as your second best music. :D And yes, Virgin Steele is a big plus, although I have only The House of Atreus albums, Age of Consent and Invictus so far. :( You have a great, variable taste as well. Have great times and great music!

It's only philosophy that I can't do at the same time as listen to music, all my other subjects at college were fine (so why did I take philosophy at uni? d'oh! xD). Well I don't want to get the expectation up too high for Kiss of Rain (a bit late now, haha xD), all I know is that it was perfect for me anyhow :) And speaking of Marco Hietala, he provides the vocals for the other non-instrumental track on Fire-Hearted, "Last Breath of Love" :D Which I think is awesome, because for me that's like Elias saying, "Yes, Teri, your two favourite singers in the world ARE the greatest!" xDD Northern Kings is pretty good, I must say :3 Tony and Marco are the best of course... the other singers are J-P Leppaeaohag (can't remember his surname, but it's definitely not that xD) from Charon and Jarko Ahola from Terasbetoni. I didn't like J-P and Jarko at all until I saw the Kiss from a Rose video, and then I just thought Jarko was so cute xD So I gave him another chance x)

Sobre mim

*I am currently listening to my entire music library on my PC with the tracks in alphabetical order. Instead of trying to do this in one roughly 7 week sitting, which is clearly an insane idea, I am doing it over time in moments when I feel like it. Namely, whenever I feel like hearing all sorts of different artists rather than listening to full albums. So if you notice the tracks in my 'recently played' being in alphabetical order, that's what's going on*

Hi there. I consider music one of my main obsessions and I listen to various different genres with my favourites being metal (pretty much all styles) and progressive rock. Sometimes I listen to quite a bit of hip-hop (mainly British stuff but a bit of American too, though not usually the chart business). I am interested to hear more hip-hop from around the world. Even if I can't understand the rapping itself it would be interesting to hear the way the genre works with different languages.

Almost everything that you see in my library I, or my friends, actually own as a physical copy but there are the odd things (such as Avathar) which I download with the intent of eventually buying them but never get around to it for various reasons (because of how damned hard to find the albums are in Avathar's case) and, of course, music that I have simply heard on this very site.

I consider this site a godsend since it has introduced me to so many bands and genres that I never would have known about otherwise. Also it has intensified my liking for charting stuff into a form of mild OCD which is nice.

If there is anything else that you want to know, within reason of course, just ask
