My top ten albums.

It's obvious, well it should be in any case, that music plays a vital role in my life.
But for the first time in a while i sat down the other day, and started to think about my favorite albums of all time, not necessarily the best, but my favorite, albums which have had an impact on me. So here we go, my 10 favorite albums of all time.

With Love and Squalor
We are scientists

- As well as my favorite album of all time, i also consider this album to be probably the best, when i first heard this album, i instantly fell in love with every single song on the album. From the cheeky tremolo guitar to the busy drum beat, every single snare hit is placed to perfection.

The New Fellas
The Cribs

- I'm a huge fan of all 4 Cribs albums, each one has it's own unique sound, differing from the last, this one definitely stands out as the best, got the right balance between the scrappy-ness of the debut and the anthems on Mens Needs… The energy in this album is almost unrivaled.

Smart Casual
Kids In Glass Houses

- i feel like a proud father with KIGH, without sounding extremely pretentious, I've been on this bandwagon from day 1. And they've developed so well, the hooks on this album are unrivaled, the memories that coincide with this album also make it more poignant for me.

Robbers & Cowards
Cold War Kids

- i've never heard another album that made drinking myself to death sound so appealing, In a good way, naturally. The vocal style blew my mind on the first listen, never before had i heard a vocalist put so much passion into their songs. Sublime is the word.

I Had the Blues But I Shook them loose
Bombay Bicycle Club
http://howsovery.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/bombay-bicycle-club-i-had-the-blues-but-i-shook-them-loose.jpg

- Being a fairly recent album (late 2009) it must have had a massive impact on me to make it this high in my list. The Emotion portrayed in every single song is genius, bit epic chorus' like in 'What If' are what give this album an edge on most other albums of the same genre.

Ocean Avenue
Yellowcard

- Say whatever you like about it, the memories held with this album put it where it is.
Iit Ain't budging.

You Are A Woman, I Am A Machine
Death From Above 1979

- again, the energy in this album blew my mind, the noise created from just a bass and a drum is something of marvel. It was a toss up between this and the remix album Romance bloody romance but I've opted for the original, what i wouldn't give to have seen them live…

The Ecstatic
Mos Def
http://mindinversion.files.wordpress.com/2009/03/mos-def-the-ecstatic2.jpg

- definitely the best rap album i have ever heard. Not having a great interest in the genre before i stumbled across this album, now i can see the genius behind rap music, and am starting to understand why it is considered such an artform.

Outlandos D'amour
The Police
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/f3/Police-album-outlandosdamour.jpg

- Admittedly, Sting is a bit of a bellend. But to deny this album's genius is to admit to being deaf. Released 32 years ago, it has certainly stood the test of time in my opinion. The way that they had the bollocks to combine reggae with punk is genius, and makes for such an interesting album!

Gorilla Manor[/album
Local Natives
http://www.frenchkissrecords.com/boutique/images/local-natives_gorilla-manor_high-res.jpg

- again, a fairly modern choice, only released this year. The trick of this album is it's playability. It's so easy to listen to, with brilliantly thought out lyrics and another unique vocal style, it's no surprise it's one of my favorites!

Of course there are a fair few albums which almost made it into this list, albums like Based of a true story by The Starting Line , and both albums by The Whitest boy alive not to mention the work of the late, great Frank Sinatra.

This list to purely my opinion, and i don't really want a vast amount of controversy with it, as i said before, these are my favorites not necessarily the best. But i would love to hear everyone else's list, interesting stuff!

- Adz
