@KAI9675: Yep, some ppl prefer calling the bands like Atheist, old Gorguts, Pestilence, Cynic, Death etc.. as progressive death metal and some of them prefer calling them as technical death metal. Besides, some ppl prefer calling the bands above and also brutal bands like Necrophagist, Origin, Nile, Spawn of Possession etc.. both as technical death metal... What's the difference according to you ?

Just thought I'd make it clear to everyone using this tag that Opeth is NOT Progressive Death Metal. The ONLY thing "death metal" about Opeth is the vocals. If Opeth were a purely instrumental band (ie. no vocals) would you consider them death metal? Hell no, their music is far from death metal of any kind. The easiest way to classify Opeth would be to call them "Extreme Progressive Metal" but even that only covers a small portion of their sound.
