I think a lot of the reason why pop-punk's getting such a bashing here is that all the bands here except Blink and NFG aren't even pop-punk. Screeching Weasel, Chixdiggit, Teenage Bottlerocket? Now thats pop-punk, Blink and NFG are just about too but as for Paramore? That's like calling Vanilla Ice gangsta rap...

pop punk's not a pop subgenre. started with punk. ramones-screeching weasel-green day etc...and as time goes on the bands get poppier. and there's nothing wrong with pop punk, there's just alot of shitty bands. ALOT of shitty bands. like yellowcard. and simple plan. but there are definately pop punk bands that you don't feel inclined to punch in the face. oh and blink 182 suck ass. in my opinion.
