Well that is because Tera Melos has no hardcore to them. Neither does Cannibal Corpse, although some people do label Suffocation as Grindcore :P. Anything with core is hardcore influenced, so I was just saying maybe you could just lump everything that is "Math" and "Hardcore" influenced into "Mathcore", but it could be a very expansive genre. A lot of math (saying this makes me giggle) inspired hardcore bands actually fall under "Post-Hardcore" as it is. Genres are just helpful guides. I don't think people should live or die by them. Basically Mathcore is just bands that take something derivved from Hardcore (whether it be metalcore, or grindcore) and throw in Math Rock aspects, I suppose. The core genres have gotten out of hand though, so you'd be right in not wanting to add a thousand more to split hairs over.

I know Im splitting hairs but to me there really is a difference, I mean no ones going to start calling cannibal corpse and suffocation deathcore and no ones going to start calling suicide silence deathmetal. Besides Im sick of every genre having to end in core.

Maybe Mathcore should just be a catch-all genre for math plus any core. After all, they don't call it Math Hard. It really doesn't matter very much.

So I've been thinking, I know that theres math metal and math rock which are different from math core but shouldn't there also be math grind? For example the album minus the herd from Ion Dissonance would be a good example of mathcore, in that it leans more towards math and deathcore. Where as Ion's album Breathing Is Irrelevant leans more towards a math and grind/noisecore sound. Imo Danza, botch, the chariot, and DEP are Mathcore and City Of Ifa, I speak in Calculus, Journal, The Number Twelve Looks Like You, Sawtooth Grin, and Psyopus are Math Grind.
