AFI was a punk band back in the day, mainly with albums like Answer That and Stay Fashionable (pretty fun album). Then they sold out and went for shitty mainstream emo garbage. RA is also considered Punk, but both of the bands are pushing Hardcore methinks.

To me, bands like Agnostic Front or Sick Of It All never had been hardcore punk somehow. They seem to me as if they were just trying to be masculine and tough. Of course aggression is an essential part of punk, especially hardcore punk. But the spirit of this whole protest and punk thing rather gets me with bands like Minor Threat, or the Bad Brains.
