Christian rock

Rock Cristão (Christian Rock) é um estilo musical que procura combinar a musicalidade e o ritmo do Rock com a temática de letras cristãs. Usado apenas como uma rotulação. Musicalmente é difícil definir o Rock Cristão. Dentro deste termo co-existem diversos grupos, cada um seguindo um subgênero do Rock. Por isso o termo Rock cristão é uma espécie de “guarda-chuva”, englobando bandas muito diferentes, mesclando tendências que vão do Blues tradicional ao Rock Alternativo e do Pop ao Heavy Metal.     What does it matter how it's tagged. Some of these bands are super awesome and skillet performs ''angels fall down'' and ''shout to the lord'' which are just amazing songs. And I'm 100% atheist, I don't even perceive those songs as about god but about something nice in general. Sure the ''oh looord oh loooordie you're everything'' sucks, but the songs are beautiful and harmless, they lift my mood just as good or even better as other songs :). Haters gonna hate.

    Very true... From what I heard. I rarely listen to popular Christian rock groups. It's obviously an attempt to reach out to people. Some people like it, others don't. But as with all music, if you search, you will find groups that really stand out and are something special.

    So... it is basically rock by Christians? Surely it is just rock then. Is there a Hindu rock, Jewish rock or Muslim rock? Why categorise an artist into a completely different genre just because they believe in god and have Christian values. I mean, some of them, take Relient K or MxPx for example, don't talk about god enough for there music to be even considered that religious.
