If you guys have listened what Corey have said in interviews... He said that All Hope is Gone is thrash influenced album. If some bands are influenced by other genre doesnt mean that they belong to this particular genre. slipknot is still Nu/Metal.

Alternative metal is more for bands like Faith No More and Deftones (excluding the first nu metal album). All the slipknot albums excluding Vol 3 are nu metal. It doesn't have to have rapping to be nu metal.
