  It was so confusing at first. This video [http://youtu.be/8X3JJ6B431E] used a New York Telephones' photo with the Japanese Telephones' music. Also, here at Last.fm the albums of the two bands are jumbled together. SO. For the benefit of everyone who hasn't noticed it yet (it took me a while to figure it out) Volume 1 (2009) Fight Night at Rodeo Dodo (2005) are albums by the New Yorkers. The rest --- Dance Floor Monsters (2009), We Love Telephones!!! (2010), Oh My Telephones!!! EP (2010) and A.B.C.D. EP (2010) --- are the ones by the Japanese.

  At first I was a bit disappointed.... There's nothing "new", what makes a _new_ album interesting.... but I really like it, even though they sound a bit 8-bit-ish.... My favorites so far: "Shit! Shit!! Shit!!!", "I wanna die", "oh my DISCO!!!", "I'll be there" and "Drums, Basses, Guitars, Keys, And Your Love And Voice"

  The Telephones band in New York formed first and has been playing for over 10 years and is NOT j-rock, but rocks all the same! You should check them out. They're more Muse/Black Crowes/Tom Petty than the Japanese band.
