Zaubererbruder: Der Krabat-Liederzyklus
Each time I turned it on again, my heart jumps loopings... I even made a presentation exam at school.
It's a concept album about a wendish saga about a boy who came to a mill of black magic and a bad Master. In the area of Germany it is very popluar I don't know how it is in other countries.
Well, you can say it's a
folk rock album, but not a typical one. The atmosphere is mostly very sad, so the folk is converted into the concept of this album. I love this album, cause every song is different from each other, but the album still leads to the saga, partly there are even parts off
folk metal but also ballads.
It consists of 15 Songs, splitted on 2 CD's. I really like every song, there are just 2 Songs from which I thought, they could have been better: "Fluchtversuch" and "Der geheimnisvolle Fremde (Ja, ja, drei mal hurra!)", I said enough, here's the tracklist:

Bastard
Kleid aus Rosen was basicly one of the first
metal songs I heard (beside
Soilwork and
System of a Down) and with the time I grew into it, in the end I bought all their albums. A few years later they publish a, in my oppinion, perfect simbiosis between metal and
folk. I love the hard riffs on this album, without forgetting their folk roots. And I love the ballads on this album, all 3 (Umbra, Wehe Stunde, In der Stille) are really perfect and I think Eric Fish (singer) did his best job on this album.
Kreuzfeuer, I think, is compared to this one really weaker, but this is musical taste, you surely can discuss about it. The review I wrote about this album when it was published you can find here:

As resume I can say, that I'm not able to find a weak song on this album, if I had to tell one, it would be "Voodoo".

Letzte Instanz (Last Authority) -
Ins Licht (Into the light)
The winner of the third place is really hard to decide, but I chose "Ins Licht". This album brought me into "Letzte Instanz" which has become one of my favorite bands and by the way leader of
my general last.fm charts.
I had different favorites on that album. First it was "Das Stimmlein", then it was "Agonie" and anywhere between also "Ohne Dich", but there aren't really weak songs, just "Krieg der Herzen", "Traumschwere" and "Nimm Mich!" aren't as good as the other ones, in my oppinion.
