I don't know why I'm doing this...
Ago 15 2008, 16h35 por joewatson406
...Actualy, I do. I'm bored. But you'll probably be able to tell :).
1. How did you get into 29?
Self Diagnosis! Well, Basically, I told Dan I'd set his Rock Opera to music. I never got into, I founded. First question's on my band :).
2. What was the first song you ever heard by 22?
Free - Probably
All Right Now.
3. What’s your favorite lyric by 33?
Level 42 - I'm not perfect, that's for sure, I'm only human after all.
4. What is your favorite album by 49?
The Spencer Davis Group - Don't know any. I only listen because it's on a compilation
5. How many albums by 13 do you own?
Steve Howe - Not enough. Only the one :(. Spectrum
6. What is your favorite song by 50?
Blur - Has to be
Song 2. Classic.
7. Is there a song by 39 that makes you sad?
Kings of Leon are in my music Library? Wow. Not sad, just bored.
8. What is your favorite album by 15?
Mike Oldfield - Ommadawn. Easy.
9. What is your favorite song by 5?
Muse. Less easy. Will probably say The Gallery. But It's instrumental.
10. Is there a song by 6 that makes you happy?
Andy McKee. There isn't a track by McKee that can't.
11. What is your favorite album by 40?
Monty Python do albums?
12. What is your favorite song by 10?
The Fratellis. Ole Black And Blue Eyes.
13. What is a good memory you have involving 30?
Linkin Park. Went to see them play at the National Bowl about a month ago. Pretty fantastic memory.
14. What is your favorite song by 38?
Oasis.
Talk Tonight.
15. Is there a song by 19 that makes you happy?
Matt Monro.
On Days Like These. Really shouldn't, 'cos it's not a happy song, but it reminds me of the Italian Job and fantastic driving.
16. How many times have you seen 25 live?
Status Quo. I haven't. I has tickets, but they cancelled 'cos Rick Parfitt thought he may have had a throat tumour.
17. What is the first song you ever heard by 23?
Deep Purple.
Smoke on the Water. Though I really, really wish it wasn't.
18. What is your favorite album by 11?
Paul Weller. 22 Dreams. It's the only one I've actually listened to the whole way through :P.
19. Who is a favorite member of 1?
Quiet World. Easy. Steve Hackett. He was the reason I bought the album. Not that he plays especially Hacketty on it. That said, everybody should listen to that band.
20. Have you ever seen 14 live?
Robert Johnson? Would be a neat trick, he died in the 1930's. I wouldn't have wanted to, because I'd probably have killed myself before the show was over.
21. What is a good memory involving 27?
Dire Straits. I don't think there really is one. Actually, I think they were playing on the radio on the way back from my first year at brightlingsea, which if so would be a hellava good memory for reaosns that don't concern you. Probably.
22. What is your favorite song by 16?
Santana.
Smooth, with Rob Thomas, I think. Or
Europa. Or Just Feel Better with Steven Tyler.
23. What is the first song you ever heard by 47?
Eagles.
Hotel California.
24. What is your favorite album by 18?
Gogol Bordello!!!! Super Taranta. Advise caution, though. They're nopt the easiest band to like on a first listen.
25. What is your favorite song by 21?
Vangelis.
Chariots of Fire. Or, for something less predictable,
Alpha.
26. What is the first song you ever heard by 26?
Nirvana.
Lithium.
27. What is your favorite album by 3?
Steve Hackett. Darktown.
28. What is your favorite song by 2?
Genesis.
Mad Man Moon. Or
Firth of Fifth :). Just wanted to make Dan's draw drop open when he read that.
29. What was the first song you ever heard by 32?
Green Day. I'm not sure, but it was probably a bad one. Probably
Boulevard of Broken Dreams.
30. What is your favorite song by 8?
GTR are as far down as 8? I must rectify that. I'd probably say
Toe the Line,
Sketches in the Sun or
Hackett to Bits. I know that's 3, but hey! It's a very difficult question.
31. How many times have you seen 17 live?
Eric Crapton. No, Clapton. Eric Clapton. I will get that right one day. Never. Wouldn't spend the money likely to be needed on tickets. Though I wouldn't complain if he was to play a local pub.
32. Is there a song by 44 that makes you happy?
The Nice. Not especially, but Kieth Emerson's keyboard playing in general makes me happy. Does that count?
33. What is your favorite album by 12?
Van der Graaf Generator. Trisector.
34. What is the worst song by 45?
Jimi Hendrix! I could have fun with this... If truth be told, I don't really know. What I do know is that he's the most voerrated guitarist of all time and whilst his music is good, it's not amazing and for that reason it all irritates me.
35. What was the first song you ever heard by 34?
Focus. Hocus Pocus. Hocus Pocus by Focus. Fantastic piece of music. I must remember to go make that a loved track once I've finished with this shitty questionaire thingy.
36. What is your favorite album by 48?
Fitness To Practice. I only know one song, let alone a whole album!
37. How many times have you seen 42 live?
The Crazy World of Arthur Brown. Never.
38. What is your favorite song by 36?
Emerson, Lake & Palmer. Dunno. Only listened to my first ELP album about 2 hours ago. Will form an opinion later.
39. What was the first song you ever heard by 28?
Electric Light Orchestra.
Roll Over Beethoven (the intro). Got bored, tinking it was all an arrangement of that classical piece, and skipped to the next track,
Confusion, which was the first I listened to the whole of.
40. What is your favorite album by 7?
Pink Floyd. ]Wish You Were Here.
41. Is there a song by 31 that makes you happy?
Queen. Prety much the whole A Night at the Opera album, 'cos it's a good laugh.
42. What is your favorite album by 41?
Fleetwood Mac. The only album I got is a shitty live recording. So dunno. But it's worth having that recording for
Man Of The World on its own.
43. What is your favorite song by 24?
Bryan Adams.
Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman? Becasue it's got Paco de Lucía on guitar :P.
44. What is a good memory you have involving 46?
Jethro Tull. The fact I was recommended Yes because Yes are 'similar to' Tull, even though Yes are plainly so much better.
45. What is your favorite song by 35?
Tony Banks. To be honest, not his solo stuff. Something of his older work with Genesis. Like [track artist=Genesis]Firth of Fifth[track].
46. Is there a song by 9 that makes you happy?
The Who. No, there isn't. I hate them with a passion. And the only reason I'm saying that is bacause the only person who reads this will be Dan and he'll know I'm only saying it to piss him off. But, back to the question, yes.
5:15 is probably at the top of the list.
47. What is your favorite album by 4?
Yes. Fragile. Easy. One of only two albums with Rick Wakeman, Bill Bruford, Steve Howe, Chris Squire and Jon Anderson. And Close to the Edge isn't as enjoyable a listen.
48. Who is a favorite member of 37?
Led Zeppelin. Jon Bonham. Page is over-rated. Not quite like Hendrix. Jones is... dunno. Not Bonham. And Plant. Grrr. Maybe I shoulda just said 'Not Page'. But then, I do like page... Ok. Sorted. Peter Grant. Haha.
49. What is the first song you ever heard by 43?
The Yardbirds -
Over, Under, Sideways, Down
50. How many albums do you own by 20?
The Moody Blues. I don't. I want to get hold of the best of at some point, but I don't think they've got much else to offer as far as studio albums go. -
BÖÄÄÄÄAAARRRGHGHGHHHHH!!!!!

It's a stormy, dark night. Clock hits midnight just now, so you know what it is time for?! To write a journal and make a hellish bunch of typos and other mistakes!
Lately I've been listening pretty much to new music. I have bought albums of bands I had never heard of/I hadn't heard their music. These bands include, for example Nine Inch Nails, No-Man, Coheed and Cambria (okay, I heard of them already a year ago, but I didn't actually like them too much until now), Don Johnson Big Band, YUP and Radiohead (yup, I don't listen to radio/music tv/that kind of things).
Of course I've also bought many albums of my 'old' favourites. I've been pretty obsessed to Strapping Young Lad lately, and after buying Alien and particularly City I've been even more obsessed. City is pretty much a perfect metal album, and I would consider it as one of the best albums ever. Devin is quite genius, isn't he?
Now that I mentioned mr. Townsend, by now I own every of his main albums, expect for Ziltoid. Some beautiful day I am going to order those ambient albums from Canada, but that's then. If they are still available then. But anyways, I bought Infinity and Physicist couple of months ago, and I can now accept the thesis that he hasn't done a bad album. Well, Physicist is a bit weaker than the others, but it's still very good album. At first Infinity, too, was a bit of disappointment, but it definitely grew on me. It isn't even near as good as Terria (nothing is, actually, hee hee) or the band's Accelerated Evolution, but it has many good tracks on it. The first three,
Wild Colonial Boy and
Life Is All Dynamics are all exactly what you should expect from Devin. And it's good that it isn't too long album (Terria, Ocean Machine, AE and Synchestra are around one hour), 'cause the shortness suits it very well.
Another band that I have been addicted to is Nine Inch Nails. I bought their albums Downward Spiral and Ghosts I-IV plus downloaded The Slip. I surprised even myself when I found myself liking their music very much. Not too long ago I was too pretty close-minded, and metal and progressive rock was everything that I could stand. Good god it's good that I opened my mind a little (and a while later even more) and gave a chance for NIN. The Downward Spiral has grown to me by that kind of power, that I could declare it to be one of the best albums ever. For me "emotive" (no, I'm not too excited about My Chemical Romance and such bands) is the right word to describe good music, and if you've heard the last two tracks of Downward Spiral you'll know how much I love them.
Hurt may very well be the best song of all time.
And during the last week, when I was at our summer cottage I listened to Yes after a little break and I got it again. I have albums Fragile and Close to the Edge and they showed me once again why they really are of the best and most memorable prog bands of the time. I still love
South Side of the Sky most of their songs. Have to listen more to them in the future. If I won't, come and hit me. Seriously.
And to end, I'll list some of my current favourite tracks. Just 'cause it's fun to do lists, even though no-one cares about them.
