I have a 2CD version with the orange cover, I actually think that's the worst one but it still feels more like the right one. ._. And the current last.fm one is the same as the ME single, and the one with the long white dress is the same picture as the Ice Queen single.

Oh, and I got the $18 US edition of BS (it's not "The Black Symphony," you can't get out of the initials being BS :-P) and ripped the DVD audio for the tracks not on the CD. XD But I did spend nearly $70 to get Leaves' Eyes' DVD plus a shirt straight from the label... we all splurge on something. :-D

I live in the US and got ME and TSF in a 2-pack (cardboard sleeve containing both albums in two separate jewel cases) for $22 when that was briefly available from Amazon, a great deal at the time since the albums weren't released in the US yet. And it came with an awesome "imported from Germany" sticker. :-D So this is the ME cover I got. Actually, I don't think I ever knew there was a gold cover. :-P I always thought this was the normal cover for the album, since that's what it was here when Last.fm introduced me to the band in 2007.

pepi, where did you buy them? Before the cds where released in the states I had to order all mine from amazon. Each where like $15 for me. However for TBS dvd and audio I paid like $60 all together on ebay (full show on dvd and full show audio cd).

These folks were the first metal band I was introduced to that I actually enjoyed, and that was years ago. While I don't think their music is special in any particular sort of way, it still retains something of a special place in my library. At the very least, they make some of the best commercialized symphonic / gothic metal out there.

This wasn't much different to me when I first heard "Restless" and "Mother Earth" (I got these on an mp3 disc that I was supposed to hand over to another guy, but decided to listen to them myself and discovered a wonderful band...) - I was talking about The Heart of Everything when I said that the songs sounded stupid at first listen, and even this is only true if one hasn't been brainwashed by pop for years, in which case one will probably find THOE appealing and the rest of the albums strange.

smin1np, my experience is just the contrary. A few years ago I had to go back to Belgium to take care of my mother and so I packed my things, including my computer, on my bike and rode away. At the first and only stop and after more than one thousand miles with my ass on my motorcycle, I unpacked my portable to listen to some music to relax and take away the highway buzz. Alas, my kid had replaced my usual music, mainly stuff from the sixties, with his own things. Among them Within Temptation which I never heard before. The first song I heard was See Who I Am. Man, I don't know if it was the fatigue, the highway buzz or the Kali Mist with which I accompanied the listening, but it blew me away. So much that, after missing the Eindhoven concert, when I heard about the Black Symphony I made sure I would not missed it. And I made even more miles to get there in full winter despite a wind like the one Saruman blew on Gandalf and the Fellowship when they tried to pass through the Caradhras.

I love all WT albums, it's my favorite band. Lol while I'm packing to move I had all the songs on shuffle and replay. I just find the theme of THOE boring HOWEVER I totally LOVE the album! For me it's my second favorite album by them (well actually I can't really pick which one is my personal fave ^^). Being a US citizen I was pretty pissed about the Black Symphony copy we got (the japanese and UK had a way better package) and it took me forever to track down the dvd with the whole show for my video region and even got ripped off by some guy in the Netherlands that sold me the full audio cd that had some scratches. Don't get my replies wrong, I really do love this band and I'm sorry I didn't mean to sound like a n00b or a troll. I just hope the new cd would have a cool concept, if it doesn't I'll still love it to death! :)

THOE has this stupid property, you dislike pretty much every song at the first listen, but later you find out that they are actually pretty good songs marred by some idiocies such as the rap in "what have you done", the "uh uh uh uh uh"s in "the cross", or, for some people, the churchill samples in "our solemn hour" (the guy did a great job in WWII, but come on... he was no hero). now either you desperately strive for the perfect song (if you find it, please tell me!) or adapt your mental spam filter to ignore the annoyances.

It just pissed me off the first time I heard it after getting the cd from Target (first time I ever saw a WT in a US store which was awesome cuz I hate waiting for the mail for all my cds). Lol I guess since I always skiped it I have an interest in it now. I'm so excited for the new cd coming out in october of 2009, however I hope they take their time on this one
