Elvin Jones on drums (as per most of the Blue Note recordings of the time), Ron Carter on bass and Herbie Hancock on piano. An all star line-up :) all the musicians on this album really have a unique style. The way Herbie creates such a uneasy and macabre tension is pure brilliance, especially through the opening statements, and his solo of course. The rippling undercurrents from Jones & Carter are superb, too. Nothing else quite like it!
