Washed Out is Ernest Greene from South Carolina, U.S., who is putting out some chilly summer songs in this year of 2009. “Life of Leisure”, Washed Out’s debut EP, is out now digitally via Mexican Summer (with a vinyl release due in early October), and he plans to release a cassette-only EP, High Times, via Mirror Universe in mid-September.
Ernest Greene had other projects as Lee Weather (http://www.myspace.com/leeweather) or some instrumental hip-hop stuff.
Now he is doing what some people call as “lo-fi disco-pop” or “hypnotic bedroom electro”.

unfortunately he is not a chaz bundick, so pleasure of listening him is just 4,5/10. with that hype, i expected something interesting, not...hazy

i feel like something should be said here...it's a little after the fact, but i don't think washed out's live show at santos was particularly bad. a lot of people (on twitter, mainly) were saying after the show that he was awful, boring, etc...i think it might just be strange because he is trying to "find himself" on stage and what his shows should be like (it was only his 2nd live show ever), and this might've made people there a little uncomfortable. i get that playing songs off your itunes isn't that great, but i've been to much more disappointing shows than that one...at least the music was still good. also, the crowd at the show was terrible...a bunch of drunk, self-absorbed hipsters who were TWEETING ON THEIR IPHONES WHILE THE SHOW WAS GOING ON. who the fuck does that at a show? i feel like many of the people there were too quick to dismiss his act and didn't give him a fair chance.
