  • Top 50 from the last twelve months.

    Dez 4 2009, 14h14 por Kiine

    1. How did you get into 29? (Don Dokken)
Well, I've been into Dokken for like, forever. So it was just a matter of time before I checked out his solo stuff. Usually, I don't really dig the solocareers of singers from bands I love. (The only exception being U.D.O.), but this really hit med hard. TocarLiving a Lie is my alltime favorite tune now.

    2. What was the first song you ever heard by 22? (The Carburetors)
Eighter Burnout or Fast Forward Rock N' Roll, but I'm not quite sure.

    3. What’s your favorite lyric by 33? (Social Distortion)
    Don't Take Me For Granted!

    4. What is your favorite album by 49? (Nasty Idols)
Cruel Intensions kicks ass. But Vicious gets a big thumb up for TocarHead's down (in tinseltown)

    5. How many albums by 13 do you own? (Loudness)
I actually don't own a single cd by them, embarrasing enough. I have four LP's though. That's something.

    6. What is your favorite song by 50? (White Lion)
I have to go with the chliche. Broken Heart is beautiful!

    7. Is there a song by 39 that makes you sad? (Madam X)
    Not even close!

    8. What is your favorite album by 15? (Ozzy Osbourne)
Bark at the Moon and Blizzard of Ozz, I think.

    9. What is your favorite song by 5? (Volbeat)
Omg, hard one. All time I guess it's TocarCaroline Leaving and TocarI Only Wanna Be With You. Atm it's We. Amazing!

    10. Is there a song by 6 that makes you happy? (CRASHDïET)
Even though I'm starting to get abit tired of them after all these years, I can't deny the fact that I light up abit every time I hear a song from Rest in Sleaze. A couple of the songs off of The Unattractive Revolution also. Oh, the memories I have with that band. They will always have a special place in my heart.

    11. What is your favorite album by 40? (Aerosmith)
Oh, I don't think I have a favourite Aerosmith album to be perfectly honest. They have amazing songs on every single one, but I don't have a record I like better than the other ones.

    12. What is your favorite song by 10? (Firehouse)
TocarDon't Walk Away. Just because that song has ment SO much to me... There's no song in the history of man that has made me cry that hard.

    13. What is a good memory you have involving 30? (The Quireboys)
Reminds me of the good ol' days when Sleaze Nights used to be at Club Maiden, Nancy still were a part of the Sleaze Rock Pistoleros. and we were about 10 people there. Off course, I think it's awesome for them that they've gotten a better (and bigger) club to play at, and that there's now like 80/90 people there on good days.. But I kinda miss the old days when there wasn't that many of us. Dancin to TocarSex Party on the barstooles with Stony will always be one of my favorite things!

    14. What is your favorite song by 38? (Manowar)
All Men Play on 10, and TocarMetal Daze

    15. Is there a song by 19 that makes you happy? (AC/DC)
Can you be anything BUT happy when listening to AC/DC?

    16. How many times have you seen 25 live? (The Hellacopters)
    Six or seven, not sure.

    17. What is the first song you ever heard by 23? (Tokyo Blade)
TocarNight of the Blade, I believe it was.

    18. What is your favorite album by 11? (W.A.S.P.)
The Crimson Idol (!!!!!!!!!). I also love Helldorado, but that one is not even close.

    19. Who is a favorite member of 1? (KISS)
Ace Frehley is my favorite member of all time.

    20. Have you ever seen 14 live? (Hanoi Rocks)
    Yes, I have :)

    21. What is a good memory involving 27? (Stryper)
I don't really have that many memories involving Stryper, mostly because this is a band I usually get picked on for liking.. Haha.

    22. What is your favorite song by 16? (Skid Row)
Omg. That's a tuff one. Both Skid Row and Slave to the Grind are flawless albums. So I'll just go with my most played songs from each album. Sweet Little Sister and TocarLivin' on a Chain Gang.

    23. What is the first song you ever heard by 47? (Wolf)
I was visiting some friends in Sweden, and they put on the Ravenous album. The opening tune being TocarSpeed On. I fell in love after ten seconds, and could'nt BELIEVE I'd missed this band for such a long time.

    24. What is your favorite album by 18? (Metallica)
    Kill'em All.

    25. What is your favorite song by 21? (Poison)
Life Goes On. Kinda tired of this band also, actually.

    26. What is the first song you ever heard by 26? (The Dogs D'Amour)
TocarDrunk Like Me. Actually a "bad" song to start with because it's very different from all their other stuff, but luckily for me I was one of those people who just started loving them even more when listening to the rest of their songs. Drunk Like Me is now one of my least favorite songs by them, and I REALLY loved it the first time I heard it.

    27. What is your favorite album by 3? (Dokken)
    Back for the Attack.
Tooth and Nail is a strong runner up.

    28. What is you favorite song by 24? (Motörhead)
Don't Let Daddy Kiss Me. I mean, srlsy. If that song dosn't hit you right in the heart you're not human.

    29. What was the first song you ever heard by 32? (Def Leppard)
    TocarLove Bites, I guess.

    30. What is you favorite song by 8? (Hardcore Superstar)
    Standin' on the Verge.
I now realize that almost every favorite I have is a ballad. Wellwell.

    31. How many times have you seen 17 live? (Backyard Babies)
5, going to be 6 next year.

    32. Is there a song by 44 that makes you happy? (London)
A few. Hit And Run Lover, Drop The Bomb, Fast As Light.

    33. What is you favorite album by 12? (Keel)
    Lay Down the Law

    34. What is the worst song by 45? (Misfits)
    Don't be silly.

    35. What was the first song you ever heard by 34? (Alice Cooper)
The same as everyone else I assume, TocarPoison.

    36. What is you favorite album by 48? (New York Dolls)
    New York Dolls

    37. How many times have you seen 42 live? (L.A. Guns)
I've actually been so lucky that I've seen them once with Phil Lewis. I've seen them another time also, but in my opinion it's not really L.A. Guns unless Phil is the one doing the singing.

    38. What is you favorite song by 36? (Annihilator)
Snake in the Grass and Bats in the Belfry.

    39. What was the first song you ever heard by 28? (Cinderella)
I guess that would be the monsterhit ballad Don't Know What You Got ('Till It's Gone)

    40. What is your favorite album by 7? (Mötley Crüe)
Too Fast For Love is a classic.

    41. Is there a song by 31 that makes you happy? (Europe)
TocarReady or Not is on my top five list over songs to listen to to cheer up, so yes :D

    42. What is your favorite album by 41? (Accept)
Tie. Russian Roulette, Metal Heart, Balls to the Wall. Can't pick.

TocarLuv Sick, Lovin' You's a Dirty Job, Givin' Yourself Away ++

    44. What is a good memory you have involving 46? (Wolf)
Same thing I answered on the question about what the first song I heard by them was.

    45. What is your favorite song by 35? (Vinnie Vincent Invasion)
    Dirty Rhytm.

    46. Is there a song by 9 that makes you happy? (Backstreet Girls)
Every song they've ever made makes me happy!

    47. What is your favorite album by 4? (Pantera)
Power Metal, one of the best albums by ANY band ever!

    48. Who is a favorite member of 37? (Trashcan Darlings)
    They're my friends, I don't wanna piiick.

    49. What is the first song you ever heard by 43? (Heavy Load)
    I can't remember.

    Nov 18 2009, 0h25 por bardolomeus

Последните песни от преди бис-а бяха “Take Me Up” и “TocarI Wanna Be Somebody”, песен на която "Христо Ботев" изригна.

  • Osa wciąż żądli?

    Nov 15 2009, 0h14 por mjr_Ion

    Pon 9 XI – W.A.S.P.

Jedni wiedzieli.

No i zapomniałbym - koncert wypadł w poniedziałek, raczej nieszczęśliwy dzień na takie imprezy.

Jednak niemalże 30 lat robi swoje i niestety - to widać.

    1. On Your Knees+L.O.V.E. Machine
    2. Crazy
    3. Babylon's Burning
    4. Wild Child
    5. Hellion+I Don't Need No Doctor+Scream Until You Like It
    6.Arena of Pleasure
    7.Chainsaw Charlie
    8. The Idol
    9. The Headless Children
    10. Take Me Up
    11. I Wanna Be Somebody*
    12. Heaven's Hung in Black
    13. Blind in Texas

  • W.A.S.P. w Krakowie

    Nov 13 2009, 13h20 por plcnlc

    Pon 9 XI – W.A.S.P.

Zaczęło się od mocnego akcentu, czyli On Your Knees. Następnie świetne L.O.V.E. Machine
i dwa kawałki z nowej płyty (najlepsze dwa moim zdaniem), czyli Crazy i Babylon's Burning. Później kolejny wielki przebój, czyli Wild Child. Następnie mix Hellion/I Don't Need No Doctor/Scream Until You Like It. Usłyszeliśmy jeszcze Arena of Pleasure
Następnie usłyszeliśmy The Headless Children oraz Take Me Up.
Brakowało m.in. Hold On To My Herat oraz Animal (Fuck Like a Beast).

    Blackie Lawless (wokal, gitara)
Douglas "Doug" Blair (gitara prowadząca, wokal)
    Mike Duda (gitara basowa, wokal)
    Mike Dupke (perkusja, wokal)

    Set lista:

    On Your Knees
    L.O.V.E. Machine
    Crazy
    Babylon's Burning
    Wild Child
Hellion/I Don't Need No Doctor/Scream Until You Like It
    Arena of Pleasure
Chainsaw Charlie (Murders in the New Morgue)
    The Idol
    The Headless Children
    Take Me Up
    I Wanna Be Somebody
    ********
    Heaven's Hung in Black
    Blind in Texas

  • Peace & Love Festival 2008, June 26-28

    Nov 9 2009, 21h01 por turbomatic

This is the first of a couple of reviews I had on my old myspace...
Peace & Love Festival, Borlänge. June 26-28 2008

Peace & Love 2008 was an awesome festival. Three nights in a hotel + Great weather, great music. I have never watched as many bands on any festival ever. Practically 11 full shows... Here's some highlights and lowpoints.

Day one started out as it should with McDonalds food and alot of Jack Daniels and Coke. Me and my girlfriend were looking forward to see Miss Li but when we got there a little late the stage was way too small for her. It was packed with people and impossible to see anything. :( Well, we went to check out Kaizers Orchestra. I loved them when I saw them a couple of years ago but this time they were pretty boring... So we went back to Jack Daniels, Wine and Cider for the rest of the evening.

Day two... A second chance to see Miss Li when she did a show for swedish radio. Only 5 songs and interviews but it was great. Her music is fun and simple with lots of energy and it's cool that she has so diverse inluences that shows in her music. It's hard not to fall in love with her...

Miss Li in a beautiful red dress.

Then followed pizza and a couple of hours of alcohol drinking before The Hellacopters. Always a great live band but I've seen better shows. I would have loved to hear more rare songs... Loved when they ended with Sam Cooke's/Otis Redding's TocarShake a couple of years ago... Still a great show though.

    the Hellacopters rocking...

Then followed swedish punk/rock legend Thåström. He did a very intense but laid back almost acoustic gig. Fantastic. Awesome versions of TocarDie Mauer, Märk hur vår skugga and Du ska va President mixed with songs from his latest solo album.

    Thåström

Sex Pistols... I love Never Mind the Bollocks but this was just pathetic. I had very low expectations but they didn't live up to them. Johnny Rotten looked and acted like a clown, like a caricature of himself. They sounded tired and bored and destroyed a lot of great songs. Ugh.

    The Great Rock'n'Roll Swindle.

Day three. First some thai food and then various alcoholic beverages at my sister's hotel room to start off the day. Me and Veronica left pretty early to see Nicole Atkins... In the elevator my girlfriend started talking to somebody... I turned to look who it was, there wearing big sunglasses and a hoodie was Linda Carlsson, Miss Li! We shook hands and talked for a minute, very nice. :)

Nicole Atkins was good, she's best in the slow dramatic 60's sounding songs. TocarThe Way It Is sounded amazing. That's where she has her own style, like a female Roy Orbison. That style is lost in the rock and pop songs IMO. I hope she sticks to the 60's/Twin Peaks sound in the future and add a string section to the band.

Nicole Atkins with a beautiful Hagström guitar.

Then it was time for the most important concert of the festival. Roky Erickson & The Nomads. I saw Roky last winter with his ordinary band the Explosives and it was amazing. One of the best concerts I've ever been to. I didn't know how it would work with the Nomads though even if they seemed like a perfect match on paper. Me and my girlfriend were in the front row like we were last winter... The first song was screwed up but after that everything worked perfect. With the Nomads backing the songs got rougher, heavier and more garage sounding. It pushed Roky to sing better and scream more and he was amazing, even better than the last time. Roky was in great mood and the band was having fun. I hope this wasn't the last time they played together.

    Roky the man.

W.A.S.P. followed, I loved them when I was 10 years old but haven't listened to them in a long time. My expectations were pretty low but it started great, the hits from an energetic Blackie for 15 minutes then things got a little boring until TocarI Wanna Be Somebody and TocarBlind in Texas. It was a good show though.

    Blackie Lawless

The last night ended with Hanoi Rocks, always a great live band and a perfect way to end the festival. I liked the new drummer, the funkier songs got a whole new groove.

We also saw Marah and Kent... All in all a jolly good time. :)
