Hey Greeks! I keep seeing a push to use the Greek alphabet for Greek song titles and names. I appreciate the desire to avoid butchering the Greek language. But I also know that, for audiences West of Greece, seeing the correct spelling in the Greek alphabet is like seeing doodles. I'd like to promote Greek music - I love it! - but I also know that using the Greek alphabet for titles and names guarantees that rare few people west of Greece will comprehend them. A dilemma results: It seems that we either butcher the Greek language, or correctly use it, in which case we make Greek musical titles and artist names inaccessible to audiences outside of Greece. Help!
