Ob man Sunn O))) nun als schlechten Streich Stephen O'Malleys abstempelt oder nicht; man muss es einfach erlebt haben.

Im wirklich sehenswerten leipziger UT Connewitz stand schon diese Wand. Diese Wand, die Strom in Ton in Druck umwandelt.

Zunächst spielte James Blackshaw. Und war dann auch irgendwann vorbei. Nicht der Rede Wert.

Daniel Higgs war großartig. Ein kauziger alter Mann mit Bart, der mit seinem Banjo die Geschichte des Krieges zwischen dem Königreich des Todes und dem Königreich des Lebens erzählt.
Eine unglaubliche Bühnenpräsenz hat dieser Mann. Und man könnte seinen Geschichten ewig zuhören.

Als Eagle Twin anfingen, wurde es Zeit für Gehörschutz. Eine wunderbarer Doom. Irgendwo angesiedelt bei Ufomammut und OM. Toll! Zwei Leute öffnen das Tor zur Hölle.

Und dann füllte sich der Saal mit Rauch. Und er füllte sich weiter mit Rauch. Und er füllte sich mit Rauch.

Irgendwo aus der Dunkelheit stiegen die Reiter des bebenden Sounds auf.

Das Brummen der bis zum Anschlag aufgedrehten Verstärker hängt in der Luft. WROMMMMMMMM... Die Druckwelle trifft mich, meinen Kehlkopf. Die Atmung fällt schwer. Füße vibirien, Lunge vibriert, Schädel vibriert. WROMMMMMMMM... Die Zeugen verstarren, krümmen sich, liegen auf den Bassboxen. Die Stimme der rückwärts gesprochenen Wortfetzen verliert zunehmend menschliche Züge. WROMMMMMMMM... ein paar Zigarettenkippen zappeln vor meinen Füßen.
Die Stimme ist soweit in den Abgrund gedriftet, dass sie eins mit der Erde wurde. Vor mir steht nur noch ein blutiger Baum.
WROMMMMMMMM... Die letzte Welle zieht sich zurück. Vögel zwitschern. Aus dem UT Connewitz kommen viele glücklich grinsende Gesichter. Ob nun der Erleichterung oder der Begeisterung dieses physischen Erlebnisses, das so in der Natur nicht vorkommt?

Ein Spektakel.
