TransplantsI always was against the idea of "milestone tracks". First of all...it's just a f-in number. In another world, the "important" numbers could be something completely different than the 1,000, 10,000, etc. that they are in reality. Second, I have some "untrue" listening (only a tiny percentage, but still), and some "catch-up" or "cheat" scrobbles to make up for ones that were skipped. So it's not like my charts represent "I personally listened to exactly this music at exactly this time". There are times when I set my iTunes to play certain songs over and over just to get them to a place where they "should" be in my charts. So I always felt that "milestone tracks" would make me feel dirty because they could never truly represent the exact order I personally listened to my tracks.
Well, I couldn't have been more surprised that, even though I have literally never listened to a track on purpose to make it a milestone, the tracks below actually represent my taste pretty darn well. In fact, almost as well as my weekly or monthly top artists, and not even that much worse than my official charts! I thought there would be a lot of "random", one-hit-quit artists, but there are actually more of my favorites that just randomly happened to make the list.
The dates are also interesting. So is the fact that, unless I'm even worse at reading than I thought, there just coincidentally are no repeat artists, even though I have consistently loved and listened to many of these bands.
13/20 artists are in my top 50. I guess it's just a probability thing.
