Thunderstone é uma banda de Power Metal da Finlândia, mais exatamente de Helsink. A banda foi formada em 2000, pelo guitarrista Nino Laurenne, e após o lançamento de seu primeiro álbum (intitulado Thunderstone-2002), a banda saiu em turnê com grandes nomes como Stratovarius e Symphony X.

Once before when I've heard Thunderstone, I've fall in love with them. Amazing band. Amazing sound, performance, lyrics and etc. They quickly became my fav band. And now, with the new vocal and album...they dissapointed me :( Their charm has gone away.

I don't like the new singer one bit. Album is decent though. Still, older stuff is much better. Now i just have to listen the older albums. Pasi+Thunderstone=gold.

lol @ Rebirth being their most popular song right now. :D Still the album only gives me good things, and something new, every time I listen to it, but somehow, it's still not even near the four first ones, especially Evolution and The Burning. Those two are masterpieces. Dirt Metal only seems to be a great album when I listen to it, not other times. :P It's still hard to say which songs are the best since it's so solid album all-round, much like every TS album. Ghosts of Youth was my first big favorite. Suffering Song getting better all the time. I Almighty might actually be the number one because it's by far the most familiar song for me. And great. Star, Counting Hours, At the Feet of Fools... and not a single song is uninteresting!

In short — new album could have been at least just a fine heavy thing with some simple and straightforward melodic background, and they almost succeded in this, but ALL the bridges on it are fucking ruined. Every single fucking bridge sounds out of song. If not that, it could have been nice, again. Still, that was what I thought after some line of listenings, but when after that I got back to the 3rd previous albums, I cried blood tears. That's why NO, I won't return to this one often, and YES, I expected this, but they failed even at making something decent in the limits they choose and set for themselves after Pasi's leave. So, it's a double fail, one predictable, another one happened, well, maybe because it's kindda adaptation or something. Yes, I'll check the next one, but blood tears can't be wiped away. Their version of Stratovarius was 10 times better than Stratovarius, and even Evolution 4.0 was a great experience with some OMFG bloody good moments. Evolution 5.0 is lame.

I kind of agree with saystrong, although I still keep on listening it - and liking it. But if I was asked now that I'm not listening, I'd say it's not that miraculous. Still, I think it's a good album. Some 8+/10, I dunno. I think I only listen to it a low - and like it - because it's Thunderstone. There are their things in it still, and that evolution towards heavier and heavier stuff is going on strongly, and naturally still. They're sliding towards, dunno, Pantera, all the time. They started from Stratovarius and they're pretty near thrash/groove already. Every step has offered great music and has sounded good, Dirt Metal is no exception. Also hard to pick up the best songs. Star suddenly grew on me the very first time I played the album - it's so NOT Thunderstone it actually sounds very good to me now! :D Breaks the style of the band if you know what I'm saying. Surprises. Anyway, besides it, I think I Almighty, Ghosts of Youth and Suffering Song are the best. Every song's solid!

Exellent this dirt metal! ok i prefer pasi but rick altzi make a very good job. Listened several times and i think it's the best album with evolution. The highest moment for me are: Dirt metal, ghost of youth and suffering song. Congrulation thunderstone!

Oh man, I can't stand the new vocalist honostly. Pasi had a very unique voice, this new stuff though is just sounding like all the other newer shit out there these days. I dont know...I'll give "dirt" a few more listens...but I don't think im gonna get into it.
