Sat 4 Jul – WARPed Out Live Electronic Spectacular

Plaid and Clark were pretty dance orientated. Would have liked a bit more low tempo/trancey stuff from their back catalogues. Plaid are always a joy to experience though. The new album should be good.

Grasscut were fantastic, a real 'must watch out for' find. They put on a very polished performance, those boys have lots of talent to show off. Tim Excile put on exactly the kind of set I was hoping for. Sick bass, crazy sampling and really fun to watch. Slightly more refined than I've heard before. He appeared to throw in a few comedy cock-ups, but did not follow them up with "Mummy I fucked up again". Shame.

Luke Vibertstood there in the 2-3am slot, cool as ever and put on a memorising performance. The things he did with The Tuss' Rushup Edge were bordering on insane but worked perfectly. Well worth a trip out to the big city from my sleepy East Anglian way of life.

  • A partial differentiation of IDM

    Fev 5 2009, 20h18 por super_tanker

I.D.M. defines the progressive nature inherent in the works of Richard James the Aphex Twin who espounded on the term I.D.M. during his early history in Cornwall, England. Aphex Twin decided that his work must be named Intelligent Dance Music due in part to the fundamental reality of his superior intelligence level. Anomalys indicate that some may question I.D.M. and decide to censor it on particular forums. However the overwhelming logic and reason states that Intelligent Dance Music is the correct term for the works of Aphex Twin. In conclusion we must tag I.D.M. more often and not tag electronic so I.D.M. is the far superior name. We must ensure that unintelligent people realise that they are not invited to hear the advanced nature of Aphex Twin

I.D.M. is the product of an balanced equation inherent to musicology. Anti-I.D.M. people are the eventuality of an anomaly, and henceforth should be ignored. Despite sincere efforts from the I.D.M. community some still wish to censor I.D.M. and ensure through their dispositions that Intelligent Dance Music will not continue. Precision and accuracy must define the limits of our creations as it is a burden assiduously avoided by the lack of intelligence in our culture. Applying vision to those in the services industries renders us as looking down our nose at their grotesqueness. We naturally know that we are the greatest people to roam the earth. Our art is beyond comprehension. As the authour is a brilliant I.D.M. artist themself, they are unquestionably certain that I.D.M. is the only suitable name for the work of Aphex Twin. We are the best of the best, everyone else is stupid.

We are the special children of intelligent dance music. We are the alpha and omega. The world belongs to us. We are the foundation of intelligence in music and we will progress our ideas through history and time. IDM defines our lives and rules our lives and we will subordinate ourselves accordingly.

I.D.M. was created and invented by Aphex Twin himself, not by American messageboards and not by Wire magazine. Aphex Twin claimed to Grant Wilson Clariddge that more intelligence was required in the complicated processes involved in the creation of futurism's subjugatic cormoxity. Liars are roaming all around us. Liars will censor I.D.M. and force us to suffer the fate of electronic endowments. Believe or not, Electronic Music is the devil in the details, electronics must be ignored. We must continue to progress the conception of a duality based on the forensic examination of intelligent dance music.

You can help the cause of I.D.M..

    1. Inexorably we must tag Aphex Twin as I.D.M. else the entire world of music will fall into the hands of the unintelligent proletariat and the small brained commonwealth slaves. Somehow a certain paradox has attempted removal of Aphex Twin from the mindset of the I.D.M. elite. If Aphex Twin's works were somehow removed from I.D.M. it would be the greatest disaster to affect us in decades.

    2. We must convince webmaster to censor electronics and electronic music and make sure I.D.M. is written in large JPEG imagery therefore to condition the minds of the proletariat that I.D.M. is the correct term as defined by Aphex Twin in his works Greatest I.D.M. Works.

    3. We must discontue the progression of African musical ideas. The time has come for us to create a now bond in our music. A bond between the American "college" spirit of traditional I.D.M. with the works of M3rck records. We must continue our pursuit of small music created on laptops. The trends of modern day must be crushed and therefore we will no longer pursue the works of "acid" or other proletariat concerns. We must continue to deny the effect of Aphex Twin in particular matters.

    4. Autechre must be given the recognition that they deserve. They are afterall the true nature of I.D.M. (intelligent dance music). If and when Autechre become the paragon of intelligence in future technology the IQ level of the proletariat will decrease further and the intelligence of the elitists will defend everything. Save I.D.M. and the potential for new engenders in our society will become possible.

    5. M3rck records points to the future of I.D.M. based solutions to the next levels of granular and cerebral entertainment spheres.Aphex Twin, AutechreThe TussAFXidm

Tonight's best new tune was 'Vuvuvu' by MSTRKRFT. It's simply a great slab of electropop, bumping along like a baby rhino. Get it now!

The best old tune was 'Voyage Voyage' by Desireless. Again, great electropop! I love the semiquaver bass-synth thrumming in the chorus. Fantastic!
