Biografia

The Tallis Scholars have established themselves as leading exponents of Renaissance sacred music through world-class recordings and concert performances. Their exploration of the depth and variety of this repertoire has reached a world-wide audience. Peter Phillips has worked with the ensemble to create, through good tuning and blend, the purity and clarity of sound which he feels best serves the Renaissance repertoire, allowing every detail of the musical lines to be heard. It is the resulting beauty of sound for which The Tallis Scholars have become renowned.

So Epic! The Tallis Scholars are coming to Minneapolis, MN on 3/25/10. This is going to be a rare treat for fans of medieval polyphony and admirers of all things musically angelic. If people are willing to meet beforehand for some beverages and good times, please let me know and I’ll find a place where we can all congregate. You can send an inquiry to: matt@underutopia.com or shoot me a message on my Lastfm profile. Peace!

I believe the high-C soprano part on the Allegri Miserere is sung by Deborah Roberts.

Their rendition of Allegri's Miserere is the best I've heard of a mixed voice choir ever... that high A just floats ethereally... They are amazing.
