O primeiro disco da banda, “Is this it?”, é símbolo da revolução no rock que o grupo causou no início dos anos 2000, o chamado “rock de garagem”. Esse CD é tratado como uma relíquia do rock, não apenas do moderno. As faixas “Is This It”, “The Modern Age”, “Soma”, “Barely Legal”, “Someday”, “Alone, Together”, “Last Nite”, “Hard to Explain”, “NY City Cops” (esta não fez parte do álbum lançado nos EUA por conta do ataque terrorista de 11/setembro), “Trying Your Luck”, “Take It or Leave It” - impossível deixar de citar uma, todas são muito marcantes - compõem o famoso disco que estabeleceu e manteve de forma instantânea o The Strokes no mercado da música mundial e os colocou como a melhor e a mais significativa banda de rock do começo do século XXI, e sem dúvida, uma das mais relevantes da história.
Room on Fire é o segundo álbum do The Strokes,esperadíssimo após o aclamado Is This It.
Estreou na 4a posição nas paradas,chegando a disco de platina,e teve 3 músicas muito tocadas e que viraram clipes:”12:51”,”Reptilia” e “The End Has No End”. O Album explora o lado mais melódico do grupo e deixa um pouco de lado o ritmo e a energia do disco anterior.

God, what's wrong with this site? This band is another example of the more recent material being more popular than you'd otherwise expect. Room on Fire is the most listened to, and Is This It, their legacy album, is only 20,000 listeners ahead of First Impressions of Earth: almost in last place!
