JP: As a fan, the first thing I notice is your violin playing. What’s your musical experience prior to the Ragbirds?
EZ: I was classically trained on violin and piano. I started violin at age nine, and I studied for a lot of years with a really great teacher from the Buffalo Philharmonic.
JP: What was his or her name?
EZ: Frances Kaye. I only went to college for about a year and a half, about three semesters, as a performance major, and then I quit to go on the road with the band and never went back.
