Mostly, I'm making this so I don't forget. I might add more as I remember them. It's a bizarre combination which only moderately correlates with my actual musical interests.

  • BibleCode Sundays!!!

    Mar 17 2007, 11h42 por PrisonerC

No wonder their album is #1 on Shite 'n' Onions!

So... today I got out of bed, turned my computer on, played some Summerfly... the usual beginning of my day. And then I randomly played one of my newly acquired and not-yet-listened-to albums.

Ghosts of our Past by Biblecode Sundays

Didn't pay much attention to the music in the beginning, honestly. But it was catchy. It was catchy as hell. Hell, it caught 'catchy' by the throat, squeezed and changed the meaning of the word. Yeah, I'm bullshitting, but I'm in love!

Usually, I'm not a huge fan of Celtic rock; it tends to be a bit boring. I'm heavily addicted to Celtic punk, but Celtic rock... meh. Well, Biblecode Sundays play Celtic rock and they play it so bloody well that I can't even begin to describe it. Even the ol' grumpy me has to admit they're PERFECT! Every song on the album is effin' great - both music-wise and lyrics-wise too!

Like it was with The Prodigals (whom I heart immensely)- I played the CD and I was in love immediately!

I've spent the whole morning reading about The Sudays, browsing through their site, through their myspace etc etc. I should be working. Instead, here I am, writing an entry about them. I missed my breakfast because of it. Now I really want to go watch Gilmore Girls (which is one of my favourite shows), but... I hate the idea of turning The Sundays off...

Go listen to BibleCode Sundays! Go listen to them NOW! Just... just go!

  • Survey - because I'm procrastinating

    Fev 13 2007, 1h55 por PrisonerC

I stole this from someone's journal...

Name your top 10 most played bands on Last.fm:

    1. Larkin
    2. Summerfly
    3. Stiff Little Fingers
    4. Street Dogs
    5. Defiance, Ohio
    6. The Pipettes
    7. Mutiny
    8. Wolfe Tones
    9. The Prodigals
    10. The Moondogs

Now answer the questions according to the numbers:

    (1) What was the first song you ever heard by 6?
    We Are The Pipettes

    (2) What is your favourite album of 2
    Ireland's Pain

    (3) What is your favourite lyric that 5 has sung?
'And I miss that place behind my house where I hiked and climbed and played, where I ditched this noisy century or just hid out from the decade. M-I homes thought it could stand to be updated, forced it all into a grid until it looked like the funny pages.'
    Oh, Susquehanna!

    (4) How many times have you seen 4 live?
I haven't :( And the chances of their coming to Serbia are very... slim :(

    (5) What is your favourite song by 7?
    Struggle Town

    (6) What is a good memory you have considering the music of 10?
I discovered The Moondogs quite recently, so no memories.

    (7) Is there a song of 3 that makes you sad?
Lots of their songs make me sad. I guess TocarTin Soldiers is one of the saddest ones for me.

    (8) What is your favourite lyric that 2 has sung?
'They don't need guns to set Ireland free, just a big bright yellow JCB' -
    Freedom is a JCB

    (9) What is your favourite song by 9?
Uhh, extremely difficult question. TocarBaggot Street maybe.

    (10) How did you get in to 3?
The Dropkick Murphys said the SLF were one of their role models (or something on the lines), so I looked into it.

    (11) What was the first song you heard by 1?
    The Great Irish Sea

    (12) What is your favourite song by 4?
    TocarFighter

    (13) How many time have you seen 6?
Not yet, but I can still hope, right?

    (14) What is a good memory you have concerning 2?
A very nice and sunny winter walk.

    (15) Is there a song of 8 that makes you sad?
    Many. Let's say

    TocarMany Young Men of Twenty

    (16) What is your favourite album of 9?
Yet another difficult one. Perhaps Dreaming In Hell's Kitchen

    (17) What is your favourite lyric that 3 has sung?
Oh flip oh gosh oh golly gee
But now we know how we touched a sore spot
Oh crumbs oh boy oh sugar me
It's plain to see what got him bothered and hot
We thought that it was just something that you said
But then we realised it was all he played
Cos he can play crap on the radio
You can play crap on the radio
    Be careful what you say
And you can play shite all day
You can play crap on the radio
TocarYou Can't Say Crap on the Radio

    (18) What is your favourite song of 1?
    On The One Road

    (19) What is your favourite song of 10?
    Roddy's Gang

    (20) What is your favourite album of 1?
    Reckoning

    (21) What is a great memory you have considering 9?
How I discovered about them completely by chance.

    (22) What was the first song you heard by 8?
No way that I can remember. The Boys of the Old Brigade, perhaps *shrug*

  • Hooray, seasonal blahs!

    Fev 22 2006, 22h27 por Communista

I finally got down to ripping my Nada Surf albums. I've been too busy with band rehearsals and wanting to get the hell out of my current apartment, I nearly forgot.

I recently got Lightbulb Sun but I haven't been brave enough to sit down and listen to the single 40+ minute track. Frankly, my attention span just isn't that great lately.

I don't know if any of you listen to Gogol Bordello but if you don't, you should. They're nothing like anything else I listen to. I had someone describe them as "cabaret" but I personally don't see it.

Also coming soon to my playlist is The Prodigals who kind of remind me of Flogging Molly...Kind of. Sadly they only get airtime on the local indy station around St. Patty's Day. Check out TocarThe Morning After if you can.
