The Long Blondes are a Sheffield, UK -based five-element band formed in 2004.
Its members are Kate Jackson (lead vocals), Dorian Cox (lead guitar and keyboards), Reenie Hollis (bass guitar and backing vocals), Emma Chaplin (rhythm guitar, keyboards and backing vocals) and Screech Louder (drums).
They released their debut album in November 2006, Someone to Drive You Home, and their second album Couples in April 2008. During their 2008 summer tour lead guitarrist Dorian Cox suffered a stroke which led to the splitting of the band in October 2008.
They released a “post-mortem” compilation of singles and b-sides called Singles, which included previously unrealeased song Peterborough.
