Of the Renee' Fladen Unrequited Love Trifecta of bittersweet masterpieces, this is the confessional where Brown bears his soul and agitation for his guitarists' relative fortune with the woman they competed for.

This is one of the great lost pop gems of the '60s. Matthew Sweet and Susanna Hoffs did a very good cover of this track on their first "Sid & Susie" album.

another of the then 16-year-old songwriting whiz kid, mike brown's, compositions about his unwitting muse, renee fladen (now fladen-kamm). one of my favorite tunes of all-time is the left banke's 'walk away renee', which was one of three songs brown admitted were written about the man's object of regard. according to http://larryhovis.net/leftbanke/walkawayrenee.php these songs began to be written, along with 'pretty ballerina' about a month after brown met 'renee'. she 'split the scene' when the affections of pretty much the entire group were too much for her.
